Anyone in there today? What was it like?

So good having an extra section of fans standing and joining in with the corner, unlike the North Stand.

Where does this idea come from that the North Stand doesn’t sing?
I sit in block 23 and hear plenty of noise from the North

Mainly because it's sat down all game. You can see why Doug wanted to move a few over from the corner to improve it.

Enjoyed it, was good being that close to the away section, although a bit odd pretty much standing behind the scoreboard!

Would be nice if the SAG/WMP/whoever would allow singers corner to spread round there on a weekly basis, good to have City fans behind both goals.

Agreed, even if they did it as general sale only and for over 18s again.

Will never happen.

What's the concourse like? Overcrowded like SAG tried to say it would be?

Would surely have to happen if we went up, couldn’t give the whole end to away teams every week when home fans are begging for tickets!

Concourses were fine, don’t know what they’re on about with overcrowding when big away allocations have had that whole end in the past.

I was in 12 and thought it was a really good atmosphere. Loads of noise and all stood up all game. Felt like an away day. The concourse and loo’s were absolutely fine and it didn’t feel overcrowded. Not sure what the massive fuss was about getting it open.

I was in there. Everyone stood all game, the atmosphere was good I thought, more of an extension of the corner rather than anything else. Plenty of lads standing in the aisles which didnt seem to bother the stewards. The concourse underneath was pretty spacious and getting served was easy. Bit of banter at half time with the Middlesbrough smoking area! Had it been more of a rivalry or a rougher set of fans that would be something the police/stewards would need to keep an eye on!

You have to walk up more steps than other parts of the ground!

Thought it was a decent enough atmosphere in block 11, lots of space in the concourse so no problems there. Stewards nowhere to be seen in the stands though, was a bit of a free for all up there which is fine enough for me with standing but there were a fair number of older folks who needed to sit and couldn't see with people standing around them.

Was loud in the north stand, very little from the corner though. The occasional song started there but it was poor overall

Nonsense, there was fuck all from the North Stand as per. Joined in with stand up if you love city but that was it. Could only see a handful of people trying to join in singing in the North stand. The corner and South stand was rocking.

You must have been at the game Nick went to. What did you think of Middlesbrough’s wing backs?

Having noise come from the left of the corner felt great. Roar at the start of the game was like nothing I've heard when sat in the corner at other games. Get 11-13 open for all games next season and I feel like we can at least consolidate how good it's been this season, maybe improve it.

It wasn't quiet anywhere other than the Boro stand.

Could hear plenty from the north stand.
Yeah that was odd, I was about 10 seats away from the Boro fans in block 11 and could hear the corner more than them. They got a few songs going but not very loud at all. Guess an early start for them for the midday kick off didn't help

I'd seriously consider moving my season ticket there if they opened it up.
Though there's a bit of a Newcastle away vibe with all the stairs you need to climb!

If only we had scored, the ground would have been rocking.

I enjoyed being in block 11 a lot, and having what was a very small amount of queuing compared to the rest of the stadium was most welcome. Atmosphere also decent and I most enjoyed watching the Middlesbrough try and hit us with pennies at half time outside.

There were two lads in my seat in the second half, and they moved when I asked them, but stood in the gangway and kicked off with the stewards/police a bit when told they couldn't stand there. Eventually they gave up and just let them stay there as I guess they viewed it as a better option than them potentially starting trouble, but I found it quite annoying as it basically felt like I was rubbing shoulder to shoulder with them as they tried to coast as close to the end of the row as possible.

That happens a lot when you're at away matches, I have no issue with it really as you can't choose where you're going to be sat when booking, so I'd just move up the stands if it bothered me and take a free space, but I'd expect seats to be more respected at home?

Don’t think you’ll ever see STs there just for those games where we can sell 6k away and not fill the home end.

Premier league and there is a proper solution put in place you feel. Stand is split in two. Easily achieved.

No club in the PL offers an away allocation of over 3K. I'd hate to be the first.

You’d hope PL and we’re breaking 20k STs and regularly selling out so it becomes a regular issue. As it is we’re talking two or three times a season tops.

I'd like to think it's a big talking point pre-season. Develop a strategy.

Even infrastructure, build the fence in the carpark if you need to. Just find a way of having the option of having fans in the South Stand when required.

Another big thing that I think saves so much bother is having 4/5 double decker buses ready as shuttles to get fans back to Cov station. People on coaches aren't really going to cause problems but fans travelling by train might. The main area where problems occur is on the hill. You have fans leaving the East Stand meeting away fans trying to find the train station or buses.

I noticed they opened gates at the carpark and had Boro fans on coaches away within 15 minutes of full time. Plan that for regular shuttle buses.

this is the kind of thing that makes people not believe a word they come out with. the car parks have been locked down for ages and the reason given by those in charge were that there were numerous accidents with pedestrians being run over.

yet at a sold out game its safe to open the gates and let coaches drive around

if they're going to feed us bs at least stick to one story

Nah I was in the North and there were plenty singing, not as many as the naughty corner but it was louder than it has been. Lots of families and old folk around me and they gave it a go.

Mainly because it's sat down all game. You can see why Doug wanted to move a few over from the corner to improve it.
Not sure how standing 90 mins is some kind of badge of honour, works for some parts of the ground but small kids and older people can't see if everyone is stood up. Needs to be a balance. The atmosphere was great, seen lots of praise from all sorts of places about how good our fans are. Stop nit picking
