Knew it. Everyone there last night was from Warwickshire, no one from Cov.

Confirmed by The Guardian. Screenshot_20260418_192735_PressReader.jpg

I've wanted the title for ages now - never attracted by promotion through finishing second. Would rather win the playoffs than that. Gotta keep pushing for those winners' medals.
Finishing 2nd is for the cuckiest of cucks running for mayor of Cucktown.
I've got my chair next to the bed as a just in case, but I stand by my comments.

Didn't post anything yesterday as I was traveling home and responding to loads of messages sent by friends around the world. Spent much of the train journey from Blackburn to Manchester Airport crying as I was taking it all in.

The whole day was epic and it was incredible that we had the goal - the Bobby Thomas song for five minutes or so after the goal was legendary. It was just pure joy from that moment until an hour or so after the game in the ground.

Even walking back into town afterwards, so many people were beeping horns and it was all very friendly. Couldn't really have picked a better place to secure promotion at an away ground with that huge traveling support.

Can't make Tuesday but back over for Wrexham. Bring on the title.

Brilliant that we got the result we needed to clinch promotion.

Looking just at the game though, we were poor for long periods. If either team deserved to win it was Blackburn. Right from seeing the team sheet it felt like we were approaching the game with a more negative mindset and trying to just get the draw. And IMO if you set out for a draw, most times you lose. Wasn't like we had to do that because of injuries etc., we did it out of choice and I think Lampard and the coaches got that wrong.

Wasn't until we made the subs after going behind and reverted to our more normal set-up that we started to look like we were in the game. Of course at that point Blackburn had something to defend and so wouldn't have attacked us to the same degree as before, but that change made a huge difference.

But we've done it, it's an incredible achievement and we can hopefully enjoy the last three games with the team playing with a bit of freedom. Then the excitement of the summer wondering which players we might bring in.

friday night was just surreal. i celebrated bobby's goal. but when the final whistle went i was just overcome with emotion.
pandemonium all around me, but i was just rooted to the spot.
i've waited a long time for that moment, as anyone who remembers us in the prem will appreciate. 💙

I think some of the players were burnt out. We have all been on a emotional roller coaster

Not sure I'd go as far as burnt out but feeling fatigue and pressure, definitely.

They're human beings at the end of the day, approaching the end of a long hard season where they've given their all and playing in games where the stakes are huge, it's going to affect them.

Well I got back last night after staying in Entwistle and yesterday in Chester and am battered from it all! What an achievement from everyone involved and the years of garbage we’ve had to put up with makes it all worth it when that header from Torp’s cross landed in the onion bag. Electric in the away end all night long and the celebrations at the end, well, just unbelievable. Stewards had to rain on our parade and tell the players to get off as we would all still be there now! 😀
Have spent all day watching the footage/social media and still have a lump in my throat.
If I knew what this season was going to bring I would have celebrated Dan Ballards header hitting the net for Sunderland in the final minute last season . 😜
Now to put the icing on the cake and go and lift the trophy 🏆

Just one last effort Tuesday, then they can relax, hopefully the crowd gets them through, it should be brilliant

That photo seems to be extraordinary, almost like Bobby takes a ball delivered from almost directly behind from Torps free kick, which would be unusualv but a perfect connection via the extra leverage from Assantes back!
You can't teach a player to leap that high and you also can't defend against it.

Been scouring the internet for a decent picture of Thomas or Eccles with the smokebomb in hand at the end, but can't find any. Surely if you're a photographer that was a shot. Anyone seen any?

I’ve been saying since we got him. “He’s a striker”

Exactly my thoughts, there have been games during the season when our two main strikers have just not been at the races and with having two Centre half's on the subs bench, Frank should have put Bobby Thomas up front, like Dion Dublin In Reverse.
