My sympathy has actually evaporated for them tbh - I get being frustrated, but levelling the blame at fans who have done nothing wrong and that we should be charged at least the same for the return fixture, saying they are going to smash the away end up anyway and giving it the Luftwaffe shouts has flipped me to the other side - Thought a season in the pub league might have humbled them a bit but clearly not

The club should withdraw the allocation completely on safety grounds for how many are promising to cause trouble

Tbh alex the amount of little farts on social media (our fans are massive for this) that give it loads and incite anger and create issues for genuine matchday supporters is mental , considering most of these little farts would run a mile if it kicked off .

Maybe our fans should stop crying about a sink that got broken and just accept the prices are shit , such a weird bunch

It's a cesspit mate. I am trying my best to stay off it but it's difficult when it's the main place to find news.

Our fans are bad on 'X' but Blues are another level.

It is too high for a game of Championship football, but King knows he can charge it and still sell all the tickets. It's good, albeit greedy business.

The thing is, if everyone wants the club to buy players and get in to the Premier League then where do they think the money is going to come from? How anyone can criticise the Doug is beyone me.

Must have just been you. Locals were lovely with us, regularly invited us back to the pubs. In fact when I returned for an away fixture recently I went to order at the bar and the barmaid said ‘the usual?’. Lovely people

We may have moved to Burton or Northampton again and probably paid less in rent. I'm glad we played in Birmingham but it was easy to get do and we had some decent days out but it's a bit of a myth that it was Birmingham who 'saved' us.

If Birmingham charge us £45 next season, they will need to charge their own fans in the same stand £45.

We may have moved to any other ground and struggled and gone out of existence. Thankfully they treated us well and Mark Robins won us a league title.

As with us, they pretty much sold out on season tickets so the price of general admission is redundant. As a fan who travels to every game, I do not rejoice in ripping off the away team as that will be me when I travel there in seasons to come.

Why you are leaping to the defence of ridiculous pricing I do not know. But hey brummies bad Doug king good

Any good will has gone on my end, other than the select few I am mates with their fans are bellends and so is their owner - They have shown themselves to be what they are truly like the last few times we have played them! I even tried to sympathise with them on this issue and got met with a load of grief... So fuck them

I dislike them more than I will ever dislike The Villa

They did, we thanked them and they got handsomely paid for it. Wasn't it £1.5m a season? Paid for their stadium repairs.

I don't want us to charge £45, it's a disgrace. Our own fans are being charged exactly the same.

However, they will not charge us £45 next season unless they want to rip their own fans off. We've ripped of West Brom and Stoke fans for years and they aren't charging us £37.

Them being cunts is irrelevant, that's not why the prices are sky high.

Irrelevant. Their moronic point altogether is that we don’t need to be bothered that football fans are being charged that much for a ticket, literally because of who they are.

Their fans are getting really irritating about this on social media.
They seem to think we should be forever in their gratitude.

One could argue that this is payback. They exploited us, charging us £1m a year to play at their shithole stadium because they knew we had no other option

This decision was made by King and his team.
I'd be amazed if they've factored in anything other than its a local Derby that will, in all liklihood, sell out come what may.

The idea that the current owner is going to let some perceived favour that happened under the previous regime influence his pricing is the sort of batshit idea you'd normally read on here.

I don't agree with it, but it's down to the club hierarchy and no one else

Easiest money they'll ever earn. We rocked up for 3 hours or so every week to use the changing rooms and pitches. Fans spent plenty on F&B.

There would have been other clubs that would have happily took the money. It wasn't Birmingham or bust like they suggest.

West Brom, Leicester and Birmingham fans all desperate to say how we have no rivals while collective screaming about how they wish we went bust and how they hate us.

It's like some fans actually think Cov fans set the prices for these games. I haven't seen many actual posts from other fans saying 'it's not Cov fans you want to be aiming your anger at, it's the owner'.

They're not going to get much trust, it's industry wide in entertainment, it's a good time to own venues that put bums on seats.

I don’t have the willpower or time or care to make an account (like some of the degenerate Leicester and Birmingham fans that have taken the time to sign up to a West Brom forum to say they don’t care about us) but I’m happy to take criticism or small club jibes from a Forest or Villa fan but West Brom and Birmingham?!

West Brom haven’t won anything since the 1960s and the majority of their FA Cup wins came before WW2. They think they’re a juggernaut club - they’re just as big or as small as us or Birmingham. We’re all insignificant when it comes to winning Titles and European Cups. Absolutley delusional to suggest we’re nothing or insignificant compared to them. Like 3 virgins arguing over who was closest to shagging.

West Brom are a boring football club with boring accents in a boring stadium in a boring tatty area of Birmingham with a boring kit yet they think they’re on par with European Giants.

Reading some of their comments on rivals you’d think West Bromwich was Alderley Edge. No lads, just as shit and low house prices as Wolverhampton.

Spot on.

West Brom epitomise boring for me. A gentle family club, similar to a Norwich.

Birmingham are a proper club but it's quickly changing and their fans will regret joining in with the whirlwinds when they build a mega bowl stadium.

Spot. Proper typhoo club. Not given a shit about by Yorkshire Tea or PG Tips but think they’re something because Tetleys know they exist. Their whole existence is ‘Villa don’t like us’. At least we know we’re not bigger than Villa or Real Madrid in the baggies case.

I don’t mind taking shit from bigger and better (even Leicester can say they won the PL and played in the CL) but not West Brom or Birmingham and saying Coventry is a shithole. Poverty shouldn’t be laughed at but you could shit a more valuable house than West Bromwich. Like a homeless person laughing at you for not having a garage.

Also, whilst I and many others had time for Birmingham, I am getting tired of hearing they saved our football club and that we should be grateful forever.

We paid over the odds to play at Birmingham, whilst in different divisions and it wasn’t at cost price like doing a favour or ‘saving’ would suggest.

It was a transaction, not a friends and family deal. Yes I respect they helped us out and we shouldn’t have been in that position but it’s not like their fans had a say in it or it was done at cost or their weren’t other options available. The staff were great at the ground and we didn’t want to be there and the staff didn’t want us there. It was more revenue for them when otherwise the ground would have been empty as per usual on a non matchday. Sweating your assets etc is a no brainer.

I don’t dislike or think twice about Birmingham City but the reaction that normal non Twitter fans want a rivalry is ridiculous. Respect absolutely and thanks for helping but ‘saving us’ is like saying a landlord renting you a flat at market rate is saving you. We have our own house now and will never be back renting off another club. You’d think some of their chavs let our League 1 squad sleep in ‘their’ whitefriars houses.

The fans don’t set the prices, Doug King does. If them and West Brom are as affluent as they make out, £45 is pocket money.

If either of them was playing in the cup against their amazing rivals that can’t stop thinking about West Brom and Birmingham City, it would be £67 at Monlineux and £70+ at Villa Park.

But they’re playing ‘tinpot’ Coventry and it’s £45, thanks and enjoy singing about the Villa on your way home to your mum’s box room.

Is the Birmingham/Villa rivalry the most one sided in British football? In terms of two clubs that are so significantly different in terms of success, fan base, ground size?

Can't think of any close really? The Manchester teams in the 90s maybe but they've evened out now.
