Birmingham Tickets (6 Viewers)

We had this with West Brom a couple of years ago with talks of a boycott, but they then had a run of form before playing us and sold their tickets. The same will apply this time. If they are in form and feeling positive they will sell out regardless, but if not they will make a big fuss about boycotting the game.

They didn't sell them out. Just before Christmas 2022(?) they only brought about 1500.

I wonder if that lot were so up in arms when they charged Wrexham supporters £35 for a televised Monday night game last season, or Burton Albion £37.50 on Boxing Day (For the third division)

It’s why it will never change, football is too tribal - They will understandably slaughter us for this, but when it’s their own club sweep it under the carpet

Completely wrong. They were predicted to bring 1,500 when there was talk of a boycott, but then they went on a winning run and bought about 4,500 come the game.

This was the one I meant. October 2023.

The year before they did sell out.

It's an absolute disgrace and whoever set these pricing structures should be ashamed of themselves. Categorising games in the Championship is pointless, every team has the same draw for me and couldn't give a shit who the opposition is, I'm going to see the City.

I haven't had a season ticket for the last few years but go up fairly regularly when we can but there's no way I can justify paying £180 for for a family of 4 to go to this game. Such a shame as I still see us as a working class city and always thought we were a club that had a close connection with the fans.

Don’t disagree with your sentiment on pricing but every clubs fans in the land (except for maybe Fulham) would say they’re a working class city with a close connection to the players and it’s just a cliche.

It annoys me when Sky EFL coverage comes out with the usual cliches ‘football is a religion in these parts’ for the North East clubs. Football is hardly a unique interest localised to that area.

The fact is, as working class as you like to believe the city you live in is, if you don’t buy a ticket, such has been our recent success, someone from a nearby Tory town will now pay the £45 and take your seat - hence the price is the price.

Tickets are overpriced of course.

But it's billionaire-backed clubs like Birmingham splashing cash on transfers and wages that pushes other clubs into measures like this just to keep up.

If they’re happy to celebrate their contribution to fueling inflation in football, then they can't moan about paying the price.

Well it isn’t as we are only charging it for two games where we know there will be a huge away allocation

Is it £55 for premium seats?

But that isn't the case for everyone.

More people will be far more interested in seeing us play the likes of Leicester and Birmingham than Oxford or Charlton, so demand is likely going to be higher for those games.

Surge pricing. Flights, holidays, concerts, trains, even now some London pubs. Will be everywhere soon.

Some absolutely embarrassing comments from Birmingham fans.

This comment is the most ironic:

"Then that pathetic "we won the league at St Andrews song" that they sing to try and rile us.

I can't even begin to understand why they think that song would remotely matter to Blues. Very weird.

Luftwaffe fancy dress for this one, Blues fans."

Claims the song does not matter but is so angry that he goes on to claim Birmingham fans should dress up as the Luftwaffe.

2241 people in Birmingham were killed in the Blitz.
An awfully strange horse to back for a City that suffered a blitz of it's own and saw 21 of it's own citizens killed by an IRA bomb in the 70s

All this talk about ticket prices has made me remember the time we made every seat in the ground a fiver and a pound for kids, got the highest attendance in League 2 history and were 2-0 down to Accrington Stanley after 15 mins

Simpler times

'Attendance' doing a lot of heavy lifting there.

We don't have a huge away allocation anymore.

This is the frustration now, our fans are getting hit just as hard as the 2700 that fit in the away end.

It made a little more sense when we could charge 5000 away fans high prices.

You either want to go or you don't.
I need 2 extra tickets for this game, it will cost me £90.00 so I will pay it, if you don't like it stay away simple really.
Saying that it is a bit steep, but there's no point in moaning no one is listening.

If they don’t like the pricing don’t buy the tickets it’s not compulsory, they will sell out and probably would at £60 they just love a moan.

just knock £5 of their tickets but close the toilets and give them a bucket instead. Scummy fans might think about damaging the toilets next time. These lot are some of the worst self entitled scum in the country worst than the bin dippers

They didn't though, (for Wrexham) they charged £30 for adults and £14 for kids, that's a far cry from. £45/£35.

I have no issue with people defending pricing, but this idea we are simply in line with others is totally dishonest. For these top category games, especially for children, we are complete outliers, totally out of sync with the rest of the league. Closest would be Wednesday who charge £40 for cat A, but kids pricing is still £10-£15.

Have to say I’m embarrassed at the pricing particularly considering they helped to keep our club alive. Without them would we even be here now?

I look forward to having to pay the same at their place thanks to King

A Villa fan on Twitter pointed out that Blues charged them £55 once

My sympathy has actually evaporated for them tbh - I get being frustrated, but levelling the blame at fans who have done nothing wrong and that we should be charged at least the same for the return fixture, saying they are going to smash the away end up anyway and giving it the Luftwaffe shouts has flipped me to the other side - Thought a season in the pub league might have humbled them a bit but clearly not

The club should withdraw the allocation completely on safety grounds for how many are promising to cause trouble

I agree the price is too high. But give over with the gratitude of they helped keep us alive etc.
If we hadn’t of used their sh** hole of a ground to play,we would have gone elsewhere.
It suited them to have us there at the time because they needed the money.
I had a season ticket whilst we were there. The ground was a dump, and they didn’t make us welcome.

They can't charge us £45.

And may not have won the league as we did.

They can next year, if they don’t get promoted which looks very likely

Must have just been you. Locals were lovely with us, regularly invited us back to the pubs. In fact when I returned for an away fixture recently I went to order at the bar and the barmaid said ‘the usual?’. Lovely people
