Im currently away catching some sun and was sitting at the bar in one of my cov tops when I got approached by a group of blues fans. They were really keen to talk about our situation and how shit it all is.
Then to my surprise they began telling me how they are planning on coming to some of our matches to support the city and said they have other friends who will be doing the same.

Makes me wonder if we will get a lot of locals coming in to have a look and enjoy the footy if we can perform

Yeah my mate is coming with his Dad and he’s a Bluenose ..... he’s said it’s a rubber neck thing and can’t resist coming and having a look at our car crash of a club.....

Not sure if this will be a reality but some sort of offer for Birmingham season ticket holders maybe on a day they are not playing but we are, would be a nice gesture from CCFC

Why not? Even just charge them a fiver. Better in the club's pocket than their's.

The fact that there does not (at the moment!) seem to be any animosity between the supporters helps this.

That would be a good idea. Obviously they wont be able to sit in 'their' seats. Especially if we have a share of F and B. Helps create an atmosphere, especially if they are supporting us.

Did we offer anything to the Northampton fan?

One thing he did say which I thought was different he said it would be great to wear his blues shirt and sit with cov fans and all have a laugh together and support both teams whilst wearing our own colours!!

Although this sounds great, I have been to a few games watching 'other' teams and found it hard to get enthused (and I love footie) when I have no investment in either of the teams playing. Watched Sheff Utd back in the 90s for a few games with a bunch of Sheffield lads- good laugh, but the matches....meh!
Also think it won't help if there's not much of an atmosphere. Takes all sorts though, and I posted elsewhere that there may be a few locals happy to watch the odd game. Every £ helps and an 'offer' to Blues ST holders would be a nice gesture.

I would have to be honest. If we were at the Ricoh and we had to share with Walsall. I would not go... but each to their own.

But part of that is because the whole matchday experience is bland. If you had pubs around, then a short walk to the ground etc then its a whole different experience.

Might get a few if we're at home for the 1st international break in September.
I can't say I'd go up the Ricoh to watch a Birmingham 'home' game if the roles were reversed though.
Then again I'm not really a football fan anymore, I'm a Coventry fan and an England fan... anything else I struggle to care.

Not even much of an England fan these days. Hardly know the players as we are so disconnected from the prima donna world.

Even less after Parris missed that penalty yesterday.

Although good to hear that the pass nearly found Paris. Reminds me of the Dublin days.

    Parris in Paris.

Did Dublin ever play in Dublin?

I thought exactly this but didn't post it in case it deters people buying season tickets thinking they can borrow a season ticket from a blues fan on the cheap. I plan on writing to suggest after the early bird ends.

Couple of their fans at work said they'd go occasionally too.

I think it’s a great idea albeit still don’t want to be there! I just hope our fans show the place a bit of respect and not trash it!

Just going on from watching other teams, when I lived on the Isle of Wight, I went regularly to watch Newport (IW) play. They were in the 9th tier of English League football and only semi-professionals, but there was some great footie - blood and guts stuff, from lads that really enjoyed the game. Yes, I found it hard at first, following a strange, unknown team but after the first season I couldn't wait for the next home game. Great banter with other fans as well!

Let’s hope that none of the London Wasps apologists hear about this and think it would be a great business opportunity;)

Why wouldn't you? Sure you're not falling into the trap of thinking Birmingham & the black country are the same? (Even though that's an outdated thick assumption too)

If the roles were reversed,I'd never go & watch another team at the Ricoh if they were sharing with us....for the record too,I haven't given a shit about England footy team since the mid-nineties

And this is the problem with the Ricoh it’s fucking effort. Effort to get to, effort to get back from, and effort to have a few drinks at the pub.

Imagine having a city centre ground again. Or a load of pubs near the stadium with an easy link

So instead of a half and half shirt, we've got a half and half brother.

If the club do £20 match day tickets, I wouldn't be surprised if a handful of locals watch.

I had this same thing, moved to a town called Swanage down in Dorset, befriended a guy who supported Bournemouth. Took me along quite a few times during their league one/ championship days, best game I saw of theirs was when they beat Forest 4-1. Strange to begin with but still follow them as my second team now I'm back in Cov

"Befriended" - sounds a bit stalkery!!
I've been to a few Hereford away games as my sister and nephew are avid fans, but never been to a home game. Went to a couple of Forest games in the late 80s with a workmate. The old Trent End was a fucking madhouse compared to the civil all-seater West Terrace. Great atmos, can't help but get into it.
    But i'd never support them.

I get the odd ticket to MK Dons games every now and then through my lads football team.
It is odd seeing all 20 of the folks in the cow shed home end getting passionate, and everyone else just like
