I've been curious how you lot have been getting on at 'Stans'. It seems the pitch is suiting you perfectly, and that most Cov fans who do attend have no gripes about our little place, other than the fact it's not in Coventry.

Reading some of your stories of getting of the train, and 'pub crawling' down Digbeth towards the ground has just reminded me as to how lucky we are at Birmingham.

Some recommendations below.

Get off New St, go out the back door, the old front door, where black cabs are. Through Debenhams, down the stairs, and out the back towards the Bull Ring Tavern. Now, if you go to the left of the Tavenr, you will have from there, behind the police station is Hennesey's, a decent pub. Decent price, decent beer. They'll look after you in there. A short walk then to the Eagle & Tunn, or back towards Kerryman, Subside Rock bar, (old Dubliner, and open until 6am, and also feckin cheap!) then it's just a 10 mins walk to the ground.

If you go right of the Tavern, you take a 5 min walk up Bradford St, then turn left onto Alcester St. You will see the Spotted Dog. Go out the back/outside, it's like Narnia! From there head to The Old Crown (Custard Factory), and there is even the new place called 'Birdies'. Look like some crazy Hawian bar.

Near the ground it's The George or The Roost. The George has a downstairs if the bars rammed. Entry from car park ground side.

After a game, head to Digbeth Dining Club for a bite to eat & a beer, it's behind Old Crown. If you like Northern Soul, and fancy the all day, then next to Digbeth Dining Club is The Night Owl, a Northern Soul Nightlcub. Best club in the city I think.



Anyway, us Blues want you away in the cup. It'd be a crack sitting in the away end of our own ground sinning "we hate V!lla more than you"

Surely if we got Blues or a big side we have the option of the whole stadium?

Financial disaster if we got a top 6 side and only had one stand.

Matchday experience far better than the Ricoh aside from having to travel (helps that we’ve won all 4 games there). Does the St. Andrews pitch usually hold up all season? Obviously twice the load this year but in a normal season does it rip up towards then end?

Reckon there would be enough tickets for both sets of fans to have enough to cover their usual attendance. No point turning down money, if there's a way to fill the ground do it.

The other gripe is that we are used to wider turnstiles too. I know I have put on weight since we retired/got older but had to really push my way through yesterday.

Thank you , when I have been I was made to feel very welcome , it’s your ground though and the sensible of us appreciate the BCFC assisting Coventry City , hopefully building relationships in the West Midlands . It has worked out well for both parties.

It actually works out better for me getting there on the train , but ultimately we need a ground in Coventry .

Sounds petty I know but I can’t see the problem. Too many different rules on drinks at grounds. No bottle tops over the counter. Sealed bottles only through the turnstile. Lid off at turnstiles. And now no bottles at all!

And what’s the craic with checking boots as you enter the kop car park? Seemed a bit random especially as the check is hardly thorough :emoji_laughing:

Security seems to have better manners than at the Ricoh, beer in the ground is better, closer to pubs, easier walk from mainline railway station.

Was speaking to a Forest fan on the train back to Cov yesterday, and he asked how we're finding it at St Andrew's. The main thing I highlighted is how welcoming BCFC and its fans have been, even the local community and pubs. In honesty, the whole matchday experience is more pleasant at St Andrew's with an all round good vibe.

If we could blend the staff, pitch and matchday experience with owning our own ground in Coventry, we'd be living the dream

For the situation we are in I never thought I'd enjoy watching my team at another stadium outside of Coventry, on a serious note I've thoroughly enjoyed match day, in a strange way a bit more than at the ricoh(more to do with the fact its a stadium and a tesco and that's where it ends)

As much as I agree, I wonder if we'd be saying the same thing if the club hadn't carried on into decline since moving. Suppose the gambles on Chris Coleman's squad had worked and we made it back up to the top flight, who knows. Any ground is pretty miserable when the side's struggling

Catering, even by stadium standards is poor.
You have your ST Checked ad nauseam by stewards as though you're some sort of criminal.
Overly aggressive stewarding is common even when unwarranted.
The Ricoh match day experience is not good.
