Great business to make a profit on a back up player. Good move all round for club and player.

Seeing the fee we have managed to receive for Binks proves DK is not selling Milan for less than 10 million

Incredible bit of business. Should never have signed him permanently after his loan spell at all but a profit is lovely.

I know it used to say he was on £30k before he was at cov, but assumed he took a pay cut to join us. If Robins signed him on £30k thats a huge oversight, and brings back the age old comment that we could have paid Gus what he wanted.

Would it have been Mark Robins negotiating the deal or would it have been Doug King? I would have though Doug would want top be front and centre of any financial transaction.

If you google Luis Binks wage it comes up on every article that he was on £30k and also says he was our top earner. Hard to believe but it’s numerous articles

All from the same source

A source that has Van Ewyk and Sakamoto earning 40% less than Tavares

I heard it was only 1.5 million plus they had to take Brad Collins so they upped their offer to $3m for Binks only.

Binks was a pure Robins signing. If rumours are to be believed, Robins had a spat with Kitching end of 23/24 , so Binks was the first choice CB going into the new season, and probably why we possibly overpaid to get him in,

Despite our poor start he didn't bring Kitching back at all. Preferring Lati at CB.
Frank switched that after he came in.

Can't remember the game (possibly Hull away). Binks started, and Clive asked Frank after the game, how did the players coming in do, Luis Binks for example. Frank's reply was like "I'm not talking about individuals etc" It was clear then, he didn't fancy Binks at all.

Binks only played one more time after that game (Luton away). He actually did well, until the howler at the end.

If I remember, he should have been sent off and then the shocker for their goal.

But Lampard didn't pick Kitching until his 9th game at the club home to Norwich January 4th. So Kitching obviously wasn't ripping it up in training and standing out as I must pick him.

Frank generally picked the Robins team for the first few games- Collins over Dovin was another one he kept faith with

...and he said I had obviously watched videos of the games before I agreed to join the club. So it wasn't just the games he had been our manager he had knowledge of.

You can tell from his interviews last season and this, he values a player's attitude and performance in training on a daily basis.
