The good lady treated me to tickets to see the main man at the Standard Triumph last night, so I thought I'd post a picture of the City legend, with Hartson.

Don't know if it's possible to earn legendary status in 12 games, i give him credit that he scored 6 goals in his time at highfield road, i always thought that if we had signed him two months earlier we would have stayed up that season.

Another short term "legend" was DENNIS WISE again scoring 6 goals in 12 games in his short spell with us.

These two players are revered by CCFC fans not only for their goals but for their tenacity, will to win and sheer exuberance both on and off the field for the cause of CCFC.

Alas they don't make 'em like that any more - sorely missed.

He has earned legendary status for me based on seeing a complete transformation of the team upon his arrival. We went from complete no hopers, with no confidence, to a team that had hope, belief, a will to win, desire. Teams no longer bullied or intimidated us. He frightened the life out of Taggart and Elliot at Filbert Street. He took on Manure almost single handed at Old Trashford. It's only an opinion, but he's a definite legend in my mind.

How's he getting on?

Who, my cousin or Hartson?

I'd love to know what he feels about his time at Cov. I remember reading him saying he didn't want to come here because we were a crap team.

Your cousin.

And Hartson's no legend for me. Wasn't it "I wouldn't leave even to become the captain of Man United". Then fucked straight off to Celtic.

Do you know Widge then?

I've had the same conversation on Facebook as to whether Hartson is a City legend or not. It's my opinion that he is, based on how his arrival turned a team with no hope around. He was an inspiration, in much the same way as Dennis Wise was.

If we had managed to secure his signing weeks before as we tried to we would have stayed in the premiership and our destiny may have took a much better course.
