Fair enough. It is just a bit depressing at times reading all of the negativity on the forum - SISU this and that, Hoffman will save the day, etc.
I agree entirely - let's forget the off-field stuff for now, and concentrate on the football. It would be nice to see another face or two during the loan window.

I tend to shy away from commenting on the financial side of the club and issues regarding the takeover. I don't know enough about it and will let those who do battle it out. I am probably more tired of hearing about what Keys has been tweeting and the Hoffs potential takeover than anything else. If we get taken over then great (dependant on the investor)...If not then so be it. I just care about the team and their performances.

He is Scottish, so I'm not sure you can read too much into that!

McPake is pretty much off. I am sure his wages are going to be used for Herman

The clue is in "believe"...of course i do not know for certain...but the original post suggested we were the lowest in the Championship...which is just as speculative. Why is the glass always have to be half full on this forum?

It's certainly one of the lowest. There is no way the numerous academy players who make up a big chunk of our squad are on big money.

I find it unbelievable that there are people out there fighting SISU's corner.

Why must every post that seeks to proffer a different opinion be twisted in a way that the poster is "fighting SISU's corner" or be a "traitor" (which seems to be a recent posting trend by some)?

Get a life - the debate is CCFC wage budget in comparison to other Championship teams - not about "we love hoffman" (as you posts suggest by dint of the picture) or SISU this and SISU that...Methinks you are obsessing:facepalm:

I remember when McIndoe signed he said we were in the bottom 3 of wage budgets in the league, and since then it's only got smaller.

Surely this can be put to bed, we have City's accounts, can someone get the other clubs?

I'd sell Keogh, we've got right backs and center backs coming out of our ears. One player does not make a club and Wood and Cranie is more than good enough for the rest of the season. If someone offered us over a million I'd snap their hands off.

It all depends where the money goes - McPake wants out, and cranie won't be here next season so if we sell keogh without replacing we'll only have 2 centre halves going into next season - wood and Cameron.

Well he probably needed to know what everyone was earning so he could scam them - perhaps he was in the know

Can't see Cranie going before the end of the season, and I'd be amazed if we got a buyer for McPake, but I guess we'll see.

Just to comment on the wage bill, having looked at the squads of the clubs that were listed as 'definitely' being less than ours, I question how you know this and the accuracy of that. Donny are using one specific agent to loan in a load of premier league rejects and are paying for it! My main point would be that our squad contains around 14-15 established professionals, by that I mean players who have been in the game for a number of years. Compared with other clubs this is significantly less. I can almost guarantee, christie, bigi, thomas, deegan, hussey, cameron, clarke, ROD will be on no more than about 10k a month each, inc bonuses. On from that baker, platt, keogh, mcdonald who were unproven championship players when they were brought in, wont be on more than about 15k a month, though keogh may be earning more with bonuses. Wood, Mcsheffrey, Clingan, Cranie, eastwood definitely the big earners. But not in comparison to many other clubs. We're likely to only be paying a % of Nimely and Hreidarsson wages too. Compare this to bristol city for example who have a squad of around 25 established championship players, and will have a wage bill that fits accordingly.

Donny's wage bill is £8m according to their chairman...

Bristol city is an unfortunate example from someone who tries to prove our wage bill is low. Anyone who knows anything knows that they have one of biggest wage bills in the league due to the owners extravagance.

Because the likes of you are pretending our wage bill is decent - hence our squad decent as you want to use it to beat Andy Thorn over the head with.

IIRC ours was £12m in the last accounts, since then we've lost something like 12 players. So I'd guess it's closer to £8-9m now.

If we use the data below as a gauge and assume 24 professionals at average championship wages then that is about 24x4000x50 = £5M (very rough approximation)

ROD please get rid, he is decent at Lge One level, but not good enough for Coventry City, someone must want him.
McPake doesn't want away, but the manager seems to want him to go, he didn't make bench yesterday, but a semi-fit Wood was there, so that tells me something.

3 points to make.

1, surely this is the reason to keep rod

2, keough I've heard is off to everton and had 4 scouts watching him yesterday

3, with not alot of income at ccfc and losses of 6-8 million a year (depending where you read it) so our wage bill cant be that high

Your silly username kinda makes my point for me though.

As is ever the case, you read what you want to read, not what is actually posted.

Where did I say we had a decent wage budget?

Where in my original post did I mention SISU?

Sorry but you have an agenda and you are constantly trying to ram it down our throats at every opportunity, and it is tiresome.

As for my username, just a bit of humour being a big Smiths fans - but then again I am sure there must be a pre-SISU innuendo in it somewhere if you look hard enough:claping hands:

1. Agree

2. Not heard that one.

3. We may be making losses because of our wage bill?

Well if ROD or anyone goes they need to be replaced till end of season at least. The squad is too small as it is!

It's not particularly well balanced though. We need another player to replace the Juke/Platt role up front and at least one midfielder. We can afford to lose a center back and either ROD or Freddy to do that.

Well Cranie's contract being up at the end of the season isn't a rumour, it's a fact.

Doubt Leeds will pursue Clingan to be honest, just can't see it happening after talks have broken down once already. It'll probably go through at midnight on deadline day and leave us with no time to find a replacement.

McIndoe not famous for having a secure grip on financial matters though...

I'd say the four likeliest to leave would be:
McDonald - "unsettled" allegedly
Jeffers - probably out on loan
McPake - wantaway back to Scotland
ROD - if anyone will take him - he's at the back of a queue that includes Eastwood (fat), Platt (a mid-thirties lower league journeyman) and McSheffrey (a midfielder) - he must know he'll need to move on to get regular games

I unfortunately expect:

Out:
McPake - Hibs
Clingan - Leeds
Cranie - Southampton
Keogh - West Ham
MacDonald - Swindon

In:
A Striker on loan
A Central Defender
A Central Midfielder on loan

I would agree with most apart from Cody moving out just yet. Given this thats a net loss of another 4 players! (you cannot count the loanees as they are temporary!). Worrying times if this is the case!

There's just no telling with SISU. Best to just expect the worst as they have no interest in this football club.

Wage bill is very close to, if not, the lowest in the league. With Doncaster's recent spending spree likely to be lower than theirs now (c£6mn pa). Cardiff's last year was £16mn by the way

Might as well keep hold of him if he is decent in League 1?
