The worst thing is nazon I’m sure will go in January - we can’t just be stuck with biamou leading the line.

Oh we've had plenty. John Gayle. Darius Henderson, Folivi, Kyle, Manset, I think we could create a 50 page thread on dreadful strikers, it's the one thing the club are good at.

I do think he should have put a few chances away from the games I've watched him play which is all home and some of his away games but I do think that similar to Rosario years ago, the team was better with him and the assists and work rate allowed Nuddy and Quinn to be prolific. To be fair, the chances are falling to McNulty from Biamou work.

Also, it's League 2, if we find a prolific 20+ youngster hen it will be a Christmas miracle.

Well a few will be laying eggs if he don't score soon.

Should he of scored a league goal now, the answer is yes. He's a a handful of very good chances. The bottom line and telling stat is he ain't.

Too many are viewing his performances with tunnel vision tho and not looking at his overall game play, and what work he's doing for the team by winning balls and holding/linking play up keeping the ball in the attacking half to open chances for others and rather be beating him with the no goal stick. Without all that we'd be on the back foot constantly as the huge gap in midfield we're the opposition would win the ball and simply come straight back at us.

Yes we all want our strikers to be scoring, plenty at that but it's not like we made a huge investment of 300-400k on him and he came with a cv glittered with goals.

Im sure to the flack of many, I'm gonna be bold and say I'm still backing him to come good and start scoring.... in 2018

Yesterday he won hardly any headers failed to hold the ball up or create anything meaningful. He’s not quick enough to run a channel of strong enough to work defenders.

His overall game yesterday was well below what’s required.

Nazon did one thing - it created a goal.

This is league 2, he's not gonna be blessed with pace, power and goals. If he did he'd not be here.

He didn't win as many headers yesterday but I don't think many L2 target man would against 6'5" defenders.

Yes Nazon put the excellent pass on but that is the only thing he did and offered when he came on. He also made the team lose any shape with his lack of effort again in the closing stages

If he hadn't of played the pass for McNulty he'd of done less than Yakubu did when he pulled up injured in him famous moment and his popularity would be diminishing fast here.

Had his shirt pulled once had a paddy that the foul wasn't given and played with his socks for 15 minutes. Failed to see McNulty screaming for the ball again on the edge of the box too.

Looked like he might have got the touch on Bayliss’sshot that took it past the keeper

Can he claim it?

I did think that and the highlights don't really confirm it either way. I think the lad Bayliss should be credited and I don't think he will be giving it up.

Shame we only have one view on the TV footage

Right at the end he pulled a ball back from the byline to Nazon who did not even go for it.

I do feel sorry for him, you can tell he’s got his head down when he misses a chance. I think sometimes a lot of refereeing decision go against him, he gets fouled gets nothing, puts in a fair tackle and the ref blows for a foul.

He will score eventually but certainly not good enough if we go up

Liverpool’s Ian Rush didn’t score in his first dozen or so matches and that was in a team full of internationals once Biamou breaks his duck who knows !

You can't question Biamou's efforts, he tries extremely hard and puts - mostly his head - on the line for the benefit of the team. I appreciate he is jumping up a league but it's been nearly 6 months since his arrival and he's scored one goal all season. I'm afraid he's clearly not the right fit for League 2.

Having a striker that can't score is a serious issue as I'm starting to doubt whether Nazon will sign. I hear reports that Wolves want a fee for his loan which we currently can't pay. So once again this is a worry if Biamou is in fact leading the line for the second half of the season.

Robins is obviously aware of any ongoing situation and will have surely made allowances for such eventuality in his January dealings.

If he knows Nazon isn't staying he will surely have someone else lined up.

Coventry City seems to have had an above average amount of ‘hard working strikers’ that can’t score.

As I said on the Jan Transfer window thread:
“I’m fed up of strikers that ‘work the defenders’ and ‘run the channels’ but can’t fucking score.
Lee Mills, Andy Morrell, Robbie Simpson, Leon McKenzie, Clive Platt, John Stead, Freddie Sears, Marcus Tudgay, Darius Henderson, Stuart Beavon and now Biamou - for the last 10 years we’ve had to put up with ‘hard working strikers’ that can’t score more than 4 goals a season. Enough is enough. Every future striker we sign should have a clause in their contract that says if you haven’t scored 5 goals by January then your contract is torn up. Strikers are there to score goals otherwise you might as well just sling a centre back upfront.”

Would love to know how many goals all of the strikers mentioned have scored career to date...in all competitions, put together, it can’t be any more than 30 goals!

I don't doubt Robins has made sufficient plans to replace Nazon's potential departure. With 2 potential players coming in (apparently loans) I'm sure he's already doing all in his power to ensure the squad is left in a better position after the window than it was before.

Maybe and I see what many say and appreciate there views. He needs goals to his game but I see enough in his overall game to warrant sticking with, goals is all that's lacking all be it a big aspect we measure a striker by.

I do think however if he'd 5+ goals we'd be worrying about a bid this January for him as everyone in L1 and L2 wants a strong target man who feeds others wins balls links up play and scores.

Don't be daft.

And tbf to morrell, sears, mckenzie and simpson, they were played out of position on the wing. Whilst others were only here for very short periods or on loan. They could all be considered failures in one way or another though.

People can dress it up as much as they like but his job is to score goals. It’s as simple as that. The boys simply not good enough at pro level. We know it and Robins will as well.

The fact of the matter is though, that he hasn't scored these 5 goals despite the fact time and again he's had fairly open chances.

No it isn't as simple as that. It's ridiculously simplistic considering the way we play is heavily reliant on a target man.

I like Max. He contributes a lot to team performance, everything apart from scoring.

No one works harder and that’s a fact. There’s a reason MR sticks with him. For the time being I’m happy with him being in the team as no one else is capable of that role. He will score soon.

My only one concern of him is his sometimes his lack of confidence shows. He’s was scared to shoot after the initial miss, yesterday he should no way have gone down looking for the penalty as it was another great chance to score.

I LIKE MAX. And untill we have a better option upfront happy with him as long as he contributes blood and sweat for the team unlike the lazy fuck Nazon.

By the same measure a keepers there to kept clean sheets with the defence in front of him, what do we do with players who fail to do that, above all the 11 go into a game with roles and tasks to stick too.

As long as the 11 players and used subs do there roles and come away the winners it's job done from a team perspective.

You can say what you like about Biamou, what he does or dosnt offer the team etc etc, but one fact is indisputable, No team with him leading the front line is going to achieve promotion.
So the real question should be, what league do we want to be playing in next season? If the answer is league 1, then a new centre forward is needed in January.

Right now hes performing aswell as a striker can without scoring.

Thing is though, he has missed some good chances but he has also been involved in creating chances, he is quite good at taking the ball off defenders and defending from the front etc. I am by no means saying he is going to be world class or fire us to promotion but Burton had a certain Stuart Beavon as player of the season for 2 promotions.

I'd love him to be banging in the goals as well as his current play, but can understand why is he there at current.

For somebody who seems to shit themselves when near goal, he goes have a really good touch and links up play really well. I do hope once he scores then he starts scoring more like McNulty did but still think it is going to be an in off the arse or a screamer where he doesnt have time to think and just hits it.

Not really if he is also involved in the other goals. Same as Luton, you could say he failed as a striker then.

It is as simple as that.... he’s there to score not fluff it up with a little belt pass here and there. He’s a forward paid to score goals. Either he does it or he goes.
