And I forgot the drugged up Doctor and the Undertaker 😁 just great characters

The casting of Neil Ashton, an an unknown actor as Davie McDonagh too !

I always thought there was room for a spin off with his character.

Yes we were disappointed with the last one - always difficult to finish up something that had been so good - the swapping of characters didn’t do much for the continuity however over the years we really enjoyed it Farmer Jim being my favourite character followed by Tommo and his management of the nightclub - episodes like rescueing Gideon from the nude cult are still on the recorder - favourite clip - Farmer Jim’s response to the rave request

The way they seamlessly blended the Asian and Traveller characters into nearly every episode, without resorting to stereotypes or not patronising their cultures and making their characters genuinely funny too, was really clever writing.

Nightwatch with Charlie & Daisy-May Copper is an easy watch.

Essentially Gone Fishing but replace the fishing with folky spooky stuff.

She`s properly mad, I know it`s his sister, but I don`t know how he can spend more than five minutes with her.

Maybe that`s the whole point of her being on the show ?

They go to some great locations though, that one last week in the castle was a real bottle tester, as was the old pub in York.

Another Western Noir - Killing Faith.

This one had a supernatural twist.

Dewanda Wise plays a freed slave, who has a white daughter ( explained later ), who can kill any living thing, just by touching it with her bare hands.

The townsfolk believe that she is a demon.

Guy Pearce plays the towns drug addicted doctor and they both need to get out of town, due to the townsfolk turning on them.

They decide to head to a town which is led by the mayor, a faith healer, played by Bill Pullman, so he can hopefully cure the girl and free Guy Pearce of his addiction.

The journey involves a long and dangerous journey across land that`s home to dangerous Native Americans and bandits.

The film follows them on their journey to the town held by Bill Pullman.

It`s very violent and dark, ( as you`d expect ), but beautifully shot, Dewanda Wise and Guy Pearce are fantastic in their roles, but the film falls flat, as it jumps all over the place, is very confusing in parts and feels like lots of little bits of other films welded together.

As mad as it sounds, I`d describe it as an " arty Westerrn " if such a thing exists !

I finally saw Prey (from the Predator series) and was impressed. Can’t say too much without spoiling the plot, but it was a clever take on the Predator lore. 8/10

Rewatched Melancholia (2011) by Lars von Trier. Fantastic. 9/10
