Peaks blinders creator Stephen Knight's next project is set in cov and brum around the time of two tone.
Let's hope it's in on a par with peaky blinders 1 and 2 rather than 3 and 4.

I actually thought it redeemed itself slightly compared to the previous 2 but not up to the early standard.
Writing fiction and involving real life characters is always a risk and in my opinion it went badly wrong at times in this case.

Liked the final episode but thought rest of the series dragged and had holes. To be fair I think they had to rewrite a fair bit due to Helen McCrorys death (such a shame)

I started Ozark two or three times before finally getting into it and so glad I stuck with it. Definitely give it another watch.

Got bored of Breaking Bad pretty quickly and thought it was massively overhyped. Because of that haven’t bothered with Better call Saul.

It’s only out in Europe. U.K. premier is tonight I think. Going to see it Friday too. Trailers suggest Dr Strange goes to Wanda for help that’s all I know.

Slow horses. Spy thriller 6 parter with Gary Oldman.

Quite good, ending left me wanting more but worth watching just for Oldmans performance which is outstanding.

I liked the darker bits, I then saw who directed it and it made sense.

I do hope that isn’t the last we see of Elisabeth Olsen though

Yeah me too, luckily the 7 year old made it through but I did have a glance over occasionally to see how she was taking it.

Same, get the feeling they’re setting up all the kid characters though. At least the multiverse and America Chavez being a thing make it easy to bring back characters even after death

Was gutted about Jamie, guess Sully still has his own agenda.

Finally finished Ozark. I know its popular on here but I really found it a slog to be honest.

The longer it went on, the worse it got.

I really liked it, but then I was totally invested in the characters, so wanted to see how it all panned out and ended.

I did think some of the Jonah stuff was a bit far-fetched and padding, but I always felt enchanted and engrossed by Marty, Wendy and Ruth, who just chewed up the screen with their brilliance. Top performances from all three.

I thought the FBI/disgraced cop, come PI story was a bit naff and unbelievable too to be honest.

It wasn't on top form, but I think the three main actors were so brilliant it carried it all through to the end.

When I was googling it to catch up on anything I'd missed I saw a load of "Ozark voted worst ending ever" headlines so I was fearing some nonsense, but I thought the ending was fine. My only real issue with the last season was how each half suddenly introduced a new big baddie in Javi and then Javi's terrifying mum

Yes, I thought the mum was a misstep.

I too thought the ending was just fine.

I thought Marty and Wendy were just annoying and I got to the point where I was invested in neither of them and couldn't care what happened to them.
Ruth, (can't remember the name of the actress who played her), was superb.

Brilliant show. So many nods to BB and twists and turns around how BB came about.
Think I'm going to watch it again because clever people keep pointing out things I missed which link it to events in BB, or maybe see if there's a decent podcast about it.

My daughter is constantly highlighting bits I’ve missed that link the two.
It is just brilliant.
We pretty much binge watched BB and BCS…the gap to this final season has made it tricky.
Im hoping everything is going to be ok!

*Spoiler alert*

The final couple of episodes were a bit all over the shop…fun though….I was saying to a mate, WTF was the car crash all about ?!..still trying to work out how the all crawled out, got a cab home and went about their days

The actual end was a bit of a shame, like most people I obviously wanted Ruth to end up with a happier ending (so to speak !) but it wasn’t bad

I'd forgot the car crash, that's my other issue. It starts the season so you're waiting for that to happen for ages and then all that actually happens is that they have to get a taxi home? What the hell. If it was a quick fix way to suddenly get Jonah back on the family's side in time for the end it's pretty lazy stuff

Been catching up on some of the newish Netflix crime documentaries recently

The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman is really mental. Super interesting that the conman and likely victim are still living their lives as normal.
Our Father was horrendous and the ever growing list of siblings is scary
Tinder Swindler also pretty good. Similar to Puppet Master in a way, but more modern

Recommend all three
