I'd throw Oz and The Corner into the mix if you like The Wire particularly.

I am here being shamelessly lazy but hoping i get done slack as an in desperate need of some good TV Shows as i’m slowly losing sanity with newborn who simply will not sleep unless in my arms, and alternating shifts with my wife lol.

Here is a list, in no particular order, of TV Shows i’ve watched and generally liked, to give an idea. I’d say the pick of the bunch would be breaking bad, better call saul, sopranos, fargo, but there are many incredible ones in here. I do love a short series too.

Any must watches that are not on this list?

Luther (BBC)
Vikings (Netflix?)
Black Mirror (Netflix)

One of the best historical dramas IMHO and mainly standing sets rather than lots of green screens. There was a lot of those techniques in Spartacus, but that was also tremendous (haven't seen Ashur yet).

Really, really enjoyed How To Get To Heaven From Belfast. For my money, the Derry Girls-esque interplay between the three leads - who are an utter delight together and all fantastic individually - was far stronger than the wider murder-mystery, which I found occasionally convoluted and hard to follow.

I fucking loved it, and that's as someone who thought GOT devolved into flaming garbage in the last few seasons and is very meh on HOTD.

The production company behind Slow Horses have bought the rights to Lovejoy. Suspect it's going to be pretty different to the original.

Southland just dropped on Netflix, one of the best police dramas ever done (imo ) - had to compete with The Wire at the time, so is very overlooked.

Also, The Punisher with Jon Bernthal is outstanding, in particular the first series.

Bugonia.
Pretty decent I’d say. Jesse Plemens is becoming one of my faves and Emma Stone can of course act a fair old bit.

Kinda comedy, sci-fi, comment on the world we’re in.
Worth a watch.

Watched the first episode of the Beeb 2 Forensic series - fascinating investigation into a boy who was stabbed in a random attack - very sad story - no spoilers but Ai did show its uses for me a cynic

After listening to the game yesterday and hearing Borges name.

I can recommend The Borgias. All about the corruption of the Pope and the Vatican in the Renaissance era. If you liked Da Vinci's Demons then you will enjoy it.

If you havnt seen Da Vinci's Demons, then watch that aswell

First two episodes of Paradise S2 are great. One of the most ridiculous shows out there but somehow makes it work.

New comedy series 'Rooster' on HBO/NowTV starring Steve Carell.
Went in blind not knowing anything about it, but actually enjoyed the first episode and found it funny.

He'll always be Michael Scott for me now though whatever he plays

Steve Carell is one of those actors who's dependably great in every project, and almost single-handedly makes something worth watching.

Evan Almighty is one of the most boring piles of nothing I've ever seen in my life, but he's great in it.

I really enjoy the other Bill Lawrence dramadies (Scrubs, Ted Lasso, Shrinking) so will definitely be watching Rooster.

Having said I was going to watch Small Prophets weekly I got through the whole thing in one sitting at the weekend.

Absolutely loved it. Thank fuck they didn't use CGI.

Looks like series 2 has been confirmed, no idea where they're going to go with the story but can't wait to find out.

Quick follow up on this. Looks like the plan is for 3 series.

The ratings are ridiculous, seems word of mouth is very strong given its not exactly in a prime time slot.

Episode 1 consolidated to 4.2m making it number 4 for the week (behind Call the Midwife, Silent Witness and The Apprentice) and episode 2 has gone up to 4.54m which put it up to number 3.

Watched it recently, I felt it was getting to flogging a dead horse stage. A 5th series is due for release soon.
