Exactly where we are too.Late to the party, but I'm three episodes into This City is Ours.... Brilliant stuff
Sinners.
My film of the year so far, just so different and brilliant.
It is however like two films blended together to make one fantastic film.
The first part of the film, is a down and dirty depiction of the American Deep South, with the racism and the poverty, with incredible cinematography, a mesmerising soundtrack and little tiny hints at what`s to come in the second half of the film.
The second part of the film is like an assault on your senses, the noise, the music, the carnage and the violence.
The cast is near perfect and I`d wager that you`ll never ever see Jack O`Connell play a role like this again
( He goes full on Nicolas Cage with the overacting and looks like he`s having the time of his life )
Go and see it on the biggest screen you can and whatever you do DON`T LEAVE BEFORE THE END OF THE CREDITS !!!!!
Planning to see this next week. Seen a lot of reviews already saying it's possibly the best film of the year.
Glad the one trailer I've seen hasn't given much away
Is it the one with Michael B Jordan?
Andor S2 releasing 3 episodes weekly until mid May, so it’s like a movie per week.
Solid start I think and it’s interesting to see Star Wars finally actually show why the bad guys are so bad and not just reference their misdemeanours.
Thought Sinners was good if not slightly too long
Yes agreed. Some of the characters felt hastily introduced too so their deaths didn’t feel half as gut wrenchingAgreed.
They could`ve chopped some of the first half off.
Watched it last night, it seemed to be all about how many ways to show someone getting shot. Plot is awful & at times it was hard to work out who was shooting who. Surely Tom Hardy can do better than this or was it a vanity project written especially for him?AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Havoc - Netflix latest blockbuster.
Despite Tom Hardy / Forrest Whittaker and Timothy Olyphant, it`s utter garbage.
Shocking CGI, dreadful script, bent cops, bent politicians and Triads, lots of guns, lots a car chases ( dodgy CGI galore ) a Matrix style body count and Tom Hardy with the worst New York accent you`ll ever hear.
Yawn.
Some of it is madness, you think it's calming down and 65 people come running in one by one.AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Just watched Sinners at IMAX.
Thought it was really good but with random stuff happening partway through. Maybe stuff was mean to something but it was like for certain scenes they let somebody on acid take over.
Don't want to give spoilers but the random parts stick out like a sore thumb
Warfare.
Saw it at the picture house ( which is the best way to see it).
Loved it.
If you are going to stream it, turn the volume right up. The sound design is superb.
Saw it last night, and thought it was brilliant. Loved the Irish folk music scene, it was nuts.
Also won't give away too many spoilers but are you on about the part where he's playing guitar and singing, and it brings through different timelines?
If so, I assumed it was referring to how the blues music influenced the more modern genres that came afterwards and they all came together, which also is what attracted the bad guy.

Yeah on IMAX it needed to go down a couple of levels.Thought the dance scene in the barn / club was immense too.
The sound quality was that good and with the crescendo of noise as it built up, you felt like you were there with them.
Some real proper stand out scenes in Sinners, which I think may go some way to win it awards.

Great film and one of the best soundtracks there is.If anyone stuck for something to watch The commitments is on bbc2 at 10pm
Lead singer was only 16 when it was filmed , incredible voiceGreat film and one of the best soundtracks there is.
Yep I saw the similarities too.Watched Sinners at the cinema. Enjoyed it even if it gets a bit weird in places. The young lad who plays Preacher Boy is incredibly talented and it’s a unique take on vampires. Reminded me of Dusk Til Dawn in a good way .
Want to watch Thinderbolts as I’ve heard it’s an actual half decent Marvel movie for once. Off to see Holy Grail at the cinema tonight looking forward to it.
