What is the best present you’ve ever had or have you the fondest memory........keep it clean.

For me, it was getting a racing bike, moving from a Raleigh Grifter to this was amazing at the time.

Nice presents, but nothing ever outstanding or amazing.

Worst presents were the ones my brother used to buy. He used to buy me an Hawaiian shirt every year for about 10 years. I just used to hand them straight to charity shops.

Worst present I ever heard of ever, was a mate of mine. His missus got him a toilet roll, because she said he was full of shit.

Imagine unwrapping a Christmas present only to find it is a toilet roll.

My pen friend bought me a movie poster. Best 100 movies. It's a poster with 100 films on and you are supposed to scratch off the ones you have seen.

Might not seem that much in itself, but her note was that we watch them all in turn, one by one, at the same time.

I thought that was truly lovely.

Very easy for me.

Spending Christmas and New year with my wife, younger kids and dogs after being apart for over 7 weeks. Got nearly a month with them.

And about to test out my pressies. Litre bottles of Southern Comfort, JD honey and Captain Morgan spice :wacky:

Bless her (she's not a football fan other than an adopted SBA), she also bought tickets for the Rotherham game next week (not understanding why there was no Boxing Day game) - doubtless it'll be rearranged for some fuckin' 'orrible Tuesday evening in February!
Anyone know if we can trade them in for a different game (e.g. if we can't go on the rearranged date)?

My sister always gets me some nice presents and this year one that stands out is the book : Peaky Blinders- The Real Story, about notorious gangs in Birmingham in the past. Already started on it and learnt that the Peaky Blinders gang never put blades in their caps to slash rivals etc, that is a myth. They were brutal though as were other gangs especially around Digbeth !

Still on the right side of the earth, BBR! Yep, I agree with the gangs in the late 1800's. They would attack coppers and anyone who stood in their way. I found it strange reading about "coin tossing". We used to play that in school but called it "Nearest the Wall". Many a breaktime was spent playing this in the playground!

When I went over to Brum recently before the Rochdale game I had a few beers in Digbeth.Im sure one of the pubs I went in called The Big Bulls Head is mentioned in the book, but then under another name ? And the boozer used in the T.V. series is near to St Andrews ground but is currently closed. They certainly gave coppers bad beatings, and loved throwing rocks.

I'll never forget my first mountain bike. My grandad bought me a Raleigh Activator. Heavy and clumsy as fuck, but I loved it because it had front shock absorbers haha

Did that with my auntie one year because every time we went round there didn't seem to be any toilet roll and for some reason the spares were kept in the kitchen cupboard. But we did at least get her a multipack of the posh ones so we weren't scrimping! Think we wrote on the label "As we're a bit flush at the moment we splashed out on these for you in the hope next year won't be quite so shit"

Also bought my sister a huge roll of that air-pocket packing paper stuff one year and she sat there popping it all day quite content.

But one year I did also hide all her presents from under the tree late at night and put a message in it's place saying
"Santa was unable to deliver you presents due to.... being unable to get down the chimney......
Please arrange collection for the nearest depot at... North Pole......
or choose the next convenient delivery date.......25 December next year, 25 December year after that, 25 December year after that"
(She was a teenager at this point so I didn't massively upset her as a small child - I'm not totally evil!)

Most of my memorable presents were transformers or lego and for years I'd get one Cov kit for Xmas. Did get Football Manager for a few years and the family wouldn't see me at all for a few weeks.

My daughter got me The Complete Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle.
It says 'Complete' but then it also says 'Volume 1".
Anyway it's about a one and a half inch thick paperback with tiny print that you have to stretch apart to see the words printed right near the middle margins.
I'll go blind reading it.
I think I'll look out for an old hardcover version. I really prefer hardcover books.
Still it's the thought that counts, right?

Our family don't do much in the year so tend to splash out at Xmas after saving up for 12 months through Xmas clubs etc.
Had a PS2 many years ago when they first came out, the missus apparently ordered it through the local Macro and when they arrived, staff were escorting customers to their cars in case they were nicked.
Have enjoyed giving presents just as much, particularly when the kids were younger. Recall a few times in big queues trying to get the latest fad - Power rangers and Tracy Island comes to mind.

Word of warning, bought a hoverboard for my eldest from thehoverboard.uk and it was her favourite present. For a day, before it stopped working. Then I went to the TrustPilot reviews for the site and it’s full of people like me that got in on a Black Friday deal and have been messed about. Currently arguing with them over email. Stay well away.

I was drinking using ground beans an a filter machine before so hard to tell TBH. The coffee is definitely better and you get the cream on top cos it’s a proper espresso machine. There’s definitely more of the oil in freshly ground beans. Do what I did and get a cheap grinder and see if it makes the difference. I probably wouldn’t have got it if it wasn’t a present though, love it now mind.

Nah. Not a fan of Nespresso cos of the cost. It works out at basically 50p a cup Cos. I have strong coffee.
