Its half time and I am sat here wondering if anyone has seen Bell? I know he came out with the rest of the team before the match but I haven't seen him since. Just hope Deegan Comes on second half to add some spice and grit.

He had a shot that was deflected wide for a corner. To be fair, he's not the only one who seems to be MIA

Well at least you can slag off McSheffrey and Murphy!

Yeah I thought bell played well, got shot down for saying it in another thread mind. Glad to see I'm not going mad and others are thinking the same!

I thought he had a good game. Whether that's 'a good game' or 'a good game for David Bell' is another thing.

He seemed a bit lively to begin with which may be a positive response to the criticism he's gotten over the last few games but then went missing for large parts. Don't understand why he's always trying to go backwards because when he does have a go and get forward he's got a pretty decent cross on him- hence the first goal.

It was his best game of the season, I think Mcsheffrey playing well took a lot of the weight off him. He is not suited to play in the hole as he has been doing this season imo, he is more suited to the position he played today.

I thought bell had a decent game. The back four looked a bit shaky and sammy had a shocker. Juke mom today but mcshufty pushed him close.

all in all probably a fair result - the only one I thought that went missing was our new man CM. juke was awesome, mcshef more like his old self, and their goalie outstanding!!!
Ref and linesman poor, poor game:jerkit:

I thought Bell had a good game too.

He went missing a bit in the 2nd half, as did a few of our players, but overall I thought he was quite decent.

Err, yeah, he set up the goal for a start! Get off his back, he was much better today in the deeper role. The 3 people I watch game with said Bell was our 2nd best player after McSheffrey today. If anyone had a shocker it was Sammy. Aside from the FK, he played like he has the flu or something.

I missed the goal so I cant comment as I was still working. But I kept an eye on bell in the first half and he hardly had a touch. This was down to bad positioning.

Agree, Sheff MOTM. Thought Bell did well, so too Keogh, Cranie, Christie and Thomas. Thought Juke was poor, Clingan was average and McDonald anonymous.

i thought Murphy got man of the match? - which is obviuosly for the penalty save

Which is highly dubious, as Murphy himself said he had little to do other than that.

I'm not sure what people are seeing with Lukas..he looked very lacklustre compared to his usual performance. He put three headers over the bar, gave the ball away and failed to hold it up. His only great contribution was the run and shot 2nd half, which produced one of 3 or 4 fantastic Federici saves.

For the 2nd home game in a row I thought O'Donovan offered more than either of our starting strikers.

McSheffrey was back to last seasons form under Thorn, and his presence transformed the midfield shape. He is not going to come ever-backwards, and he was constantly finding space "between the lines" and splitting the 2 Reading CB's. Overall the midfield 4 were much more compact, and Hussey in particular made 4 cracking runs and passes to McSheffrey in space. Reading responded by cynically hacking McSheffrey most of the time.

Connor did some decent things 1st half and faded 2nd,getting caught in possession and knocked of the ball too easily, but at least played the position, which Gael was struggling to do. Bell played the LCM role well, and I think an even average Sammy performance may have given us the edge-but he was very poor, and that undermined the base of the diamond.

I musr admit I am not a Bell fan. He is one paced and delivers very little sipply to the forwards. I struggle to see any positives.

Not really a time to say that though, is it-when he set up our only goal in the game? In that game, 9 other guys created less goals than him..

His whole round contribution to the game was alot more then normal, but thats not saying alot, I can't remember the pass for the goal, but he doesn't supply enough, yes he set one up today, but how many this season?? The keeper was dreadful and should of saved that shot with ease.

Bells shot-or McSheffrey? Federici dreadful do you mean? Surely not. Because Federici was man of the match by a country mile, and could do nothing with a power-blast of a shot by McSheffrey..

Hi guys
It seems we always have to have a whipping boy, and at the moment bell's him, and have you noticed once labled a flop, the player cant do a thing right, one slip and the boo boys are at him like a pack of junk yard dogs, whilst good play from him barely raises a murmer.
David bell is what he is, "an average player"Just like the rest of them, I thought today he was almost as good as anyone on our side, he contributed to the overall performance, and certainly doesn't warrent the stick he gets.

beat at his near post, from a tight angle, but sorry, the keeper has to take the full fault.

Edit: i meant his 'effort' for the goal was dreadfull, he looked a solid keeper.

I don't think he stood a chance with the shot-if he'd have got a hand on it, it woulda taken it off.
