Seems subs were set at half time and the hour, Andreu went off after 48 hopefully not an injury.

I really hope we aren't going to play 3 at the back.

Andreu sounds like he was involved a fair bit in the attacking play.

Pitches will be rock hard at the minute so probably thinking of his back before attempting his standard overhead!

Have we been playing 5-3-2 quite a lot this preseason?

As long as we win games I don't really care what formation we play. With no Sterling, Jones or Bayliss there aren't many options on the right at the moment so good to look at other formations.

I thought Andreu Ponticelli was an opera singer?
Here he is, singing with Celine Dion...…

Does anyone ever look at pictures of Ponticelli, like the ones of today's game, and think that he could do with shifting a little timber?

Depends whether you want him to leave defenders trailing in his wake, or snap 'em in half. I think Nick has been advising him.

Remember Steve Whitton?

No I think it works for him, he’s stocky and can hold his own on the ball

I just feel like if he conditions himself a little bit and shifts a little weight it'll take him up a level.

He's by no means out of shape, don't get me wrong. I just think if you compare his physique to that of your average higher level footballer, he's got a bit of work to do.

Rooney had a first touch, ability to link up and vision. You need something extra if you're going to be a weighty footballer.

It's like having a lad with 20 finishing on Football Manager but with less than adequate physical attributes.
