To me its back to routes 532 original system that got us to the play offs,

Dovin
———————
van Ewijk
Latibeaudiere
Thomas
Binks
Dasilva
———————
Rudoni
Sheaf
Eccles
———————
BTA
Bassette

Haji and Simms havent done anythjng to warrant being first names on the teamsheet this season, the press BTA and the hound could lead would be frightening for teams to play against.
I was contemplating throwing Torp in there but Eccles has been a small light in the darkness this season, Rudoni has also been class and Sheaf is the captain and best player we have.
Dasilva and Milan pressing high up and working up and down as wing backs, they both have the pace to get back and stop counters but with the added security of 3 CBs behind rather than 2 gives them more license to roam.
In January I want an experienced head in the mold of Worrall (obviously cant be him but similar) to sit in the Center of defence with Thomas and Binks either side of him.
Dovin back in as he’s had enough time out of the firing line to grow an understanding and get to know hit backline besides how better to do so than in league matches, he’ll actually know them now so thats a benefit its just building that confidence in him and get him communicating.
In defence acting as a 532, on attack 3412

What Bassette potentially gives us is a player that makes something happen with his pace.
The other one barely mentioned is Tavares. Who came on as a sub and changed a game or two. Unlike Simms.

If that is now the mantra for recruitment, Robins hasn't bought in to it. Bassette sitting on the bench won't do much for his re-sale value. What also baffles me is that Bassette is offering a real alternative to Simms' woeful, lacklustre displays, yet he's not even getting minutes off the bench. Hard to fathom. Feels like we're watching a car crash in slow motion. I want Robins to stay as manager, but think DK would have to go, an that obviously isn't happening.

If @HuckerbyDublinWhelan is right about the role of CMR then it seems that's right, the club is just a vehicle to appreciate assets. It seems to have forgotten that in the meantime it needs to win football matches.

The blokes not got a Scooby on how to run a football club outside of profit and this is now showing

Hes been told by numerous people at the club that loans and experience are a necessity to get out of this league

Hes carried on his way because Doug knows best

I think Bassette has been placed firmly on the naughty steps for his (justified) outbursts at his team-mates against Swansea. Baffling as to how he's played 0 minutes since then.

What a mess we have as a team . The “ model “ isn’t working & Doug must be blind to not see this pedestrian football being played & us crying out for an experienced play maker , or midfielders in general .
With Robin’s not having a clue , along with his band of merry coaches , we might change places with Blues , unless something changes very quickly .

You only have to look at Man City with the quality they have at their disposal but everyone is saying that Rodri is an absolute massive miss, we have Allen out injured and apart from another body he is not a miss at all and is probably a year or 2 past his sell by date whereas Torp is fast approaching his sell by date unless he ups his game by a fair amount, all the fans can see we are way way way too light in midfield, last year as well as this, so why isn't nothing being done? Our 'captain' has stronger ties with the physios than the team and as much as I think of Eccles he has definitely stepped up but needs someone experienced playing beside him over to you baron Doug !!! sort the fucker out because our most succesful manager of over 50 years is struggling!!

It won't be long before Bassette gets his chance again, Robbings keeps referencing that everyone must be ready and inevitably that will come along.
Unfortunately Bassette's chance should have been yesterday.

Loan or experienced head might help make small important differences on the pitch but I'm not sure you can say it would drastically transform the team either.

It's not the main problem we have.

The main problem we seem to have is losing leaders on the pitch and leadership and particularly defensive organisation off it.

Whoever is manager will need at least two experienced players, an Assistant and a defensive coach IMO.

Haji has 3 goals playing for a crap team, no idea why he's taking so much criticism. Simms has fallen of a cliff though, but doesn't get any service.

I never want to see us play the same 5atb system used in 22/23, it's so boring without Vik and Hamer to carry the attacking output.

Have you seen how bad they look playing a 4atb this season?
its just a suggestion to tighten us up at the back until January where we can sign some replacements, also we didnt have the energy of BTA or Bassette last season, nor the creativity of Rudoni from midfield, everyone also has said Dasilva is very much a wing back and is a lot better as a wing back

He could. But Robins has enough credit in the bank to be allowed to continue for now as far as I'm concerned.
But in his previous successful seasons he's had an assistant, senior players and loanees, all things he's currently operating without.

Let's bring them back!

I agree should be afforded more time. I'm just saying I'm not sure these things are big enough excuses. Yes I definitely agree they could help. But I also think he should be doing better with what he has already got regardless

We should be doing better. I'm convinced if he thrown a fresh CM on yesterday for last 15 we get a point.
Impossible to know for sure but I think that was an error on his behalf.

Our early season performances last season were better than those so far this season. The 5atb really fell apart because we sat so deep to accommodate McFadz. It might be better with a higher line but no guarantee of that. I probably agree though that it isn't the answer for us now.

What's going on with this guy?

Came in, showed pace, aggression, wasn't afraid to get stuck in and now he's been bombed out yet Simms and Wright are getting game time?

His biggest crime seems to be getting a bit gobby. Not saying he would, but he would have given us a different option yesterday vs the ineffective Simms.

For whatever reason he's on Robins "not to be trusted" list.
I think you answered it! It's because he gobs off at his team mates which may be unsettling so Robbings is trying to keep his feet firmly on the ground IMHO
