He caught his standing leg albeit not in the way that the keeper suggested with his theatrics

I thought he got that card for sticking two fingers to the goalie but I couldn’t see so only went off what I heard next to me.

To be fair I just want a player chant, since faz left doesn’t feel like fans have any which aren’t just repeating the player name over and over.

The issue with that one is that neither his full name or just the surname fit in the lyrics.

I can only echo sentiments to start him, and I’m afraid Simms would have to make way. For me, Ellis is too frail mentally, and can only tuck away the numerous chances he gets when his confidence is high. Which isn’t very often.

We need that edge at the moment, someone with a fiery spirit and energy to burn. 🩵

His attitude looks spot on. But in reality there’s no way he gets in ahead of Simms at the moment. Hope he becomes a gem but I was amazed at the analysis of him from the Oxford game. He ran about a lot but to start ascribing mini Vic comparisons is crazy.

To be fair he also should have absolutely got an assist when BTA missed from point blank range.

And yeah I think a lot of us are getting carried away but he’s a player who looks like he wants to fight to win and is always putting himself around what’s not to love.

Really like the look of him, we all want to see a bit of fight but wouldn’t like to see him isolated up front on his own getting very little service. Get him in there with Haji on the left of him.

The service or lack thereof is more down to the ineffective playing style than the shape I think.

Tbf binks did the same with the Norwich player who was rolling around asking for a penalty.

And he left one in on the Norwich right winger similar to what happened to Tats.

I like him already, especially in the cup game where he made his debut. But he got booked for that challenge on their keeper on Saturday and then had to hold back a bit afterwards. I don't know if it was a fair booking because I haven't watched it back but he gave the ref the reason to think about it. Just needs to get that balance between aggression and effective aggression right. Love that he is so keen so don't want this to sound too critical. Much rather he has that passion and tempers it than not have it

Fancy that, a striker with more fight and guts than our midfielders, why are they just so fucking weak?

You know in someways I think he would be great with Simms. Think he would do a lot of the work needed to allow simms to play as a poacher in the box. One of the big reasons I advocate the 4-4-2 a lot.

this gets my vote. either alongside simms, or as a number 10 in a 4-4-1-1.
it would also make more sense of what simms is trying to do. no point trying to hold up the ball if everyone else is half a pitch away.

Everyone has been pointing at midfield.
Now all of a sudden we seem pretty keen to throw in a 19 year old newbie as the lead striker ahead of Simms, Wright, BTA, EMC and Tavares...
Maybe we've all gone nuts!
Ps. I know it's mainly because we desperately want some fight and spirit...
Pps. And everyone likes to think we've got someone potentially special on the books. Based on not much at all. Including me....

Yep, no doubt he has the raw attributes to be a decent player but he had 4 touches in 38 minutes on Saturday (and got booked).

He's a breath of fresh air and just imagine a midfielder with skill and the same character instincts.

If the team is disjointed and play with no cohesion then the players highest up the field suffer the most. The only thing left for them to do is work across the field.

He was pressing on his own as those behind stood and watched him. Unfortunately Sheaf is the biggest piece of the jigsaw missing and until he is back we have nobody that links all together. So every player including Bassette its going to be tough going. Bassette is a good player and in time will prove it.

Ah, the usual suspects turn up to pour shit over any positivity.

I would give the lad a go if Simms doesn’t get his head out of his arse soon.

He's only getting 60 mins currently give him a chance , how many should he get in your opinion before he's dropped, quite early to give this lad the starts IMO?

Not negativity. I’m encouraged by his attitude. But some of the platitudes so far are bizarre. He’s done the equivalent of nothing so far save put himself about.

Considering Saka could be out for Watford, I think BTA & Bassette deserve a start, so most likely Simms will need to drop out.
Pray that Sheaf is back too.

Sheaf could be out for a while from a report I read earlier

Wasn’t directed at you, mate.

It’s his approach and energy that could be infectious to the team, that confidence is something that needs to be harnessed.

Reminded me a bit of Vardy, a very slightly built shithouse with a nasty edge to him. Didn’t have much of an impact on Saturday but charges around and is always running off the defenders shoulders which they will hate. Offers us something very different.

I find him inconsistent and wasteful at times, to be honest, as much as I want him to succeed. Bassette is clearly a more aggressive, energetic striker, and could be more useful if he’s given some more game time.
