but when you’re average age is 22 years old they’re improving all the time. Watching us play I’m convinced we’ll be a decent top half side if we can keep our players and head coach. Only time will tell but if we play like we normally do your in for a shock on Saturday.

10-nil for the sky blues. Chaplin with 7 own goals and a Godden hat trick. You read it here first.

somewhere online theirs a really long winded scouting report on our pressing style, it’s a fascinating read for reds fans, but will probably bore the tits off you lot. Nonetheless If you’re interested in reading it let me know and I’ll try and find it for ya.
we’re a really good side but we just can’t score, if you go back over the stats from our last 20 games you’ll be really surprised at just how dominant we’ve been without scoring.

Sheaf in for Shipperz

Shipley does have the positional sense to play the DCM at this level and he can be a bit easy to pass around.

Sheaf walks into the team for Shipley. No disrespect to Shipley who has done well filling in.

Sam wont start. Think he will play full 90 mins in some aranged behind closed door friendly first.

Other than that unchanged.

Same starting 11 as Friday, Shipley deserves another start.

I’d like to see Rose start he was our best centre half last year for me.

Take it you didn’t see him against Gillingham then,he’s not even close to full fitness yet needs more time

I did and one sub par performance doesn’t mean he ‘needs more time’. He’s played nearly 2 full games against Solihull and Gillingham and would be in full training since.

Agreed. Big fan of Shipley but in an attacking midfield position. In fact I wouldn’t mind seeing Shipley instead of Allen and Sheaf slotting into Defensive midfield for this one.

Agree with this, cannot stand Shipley playing dcm, but to his credit he has got a knack of popping up with a goal

Yeah, it's madness to think you can throw him into a league starting xi after having played a friendly against a non league and a glorified freindly in the carabo cup

The current back 3 have started well and none of them deserve to be dropped.

Rose will have to wait for his chance.

Tell me who deserves to be dropped and why then.

Rose will only play on Saturday if one of the current 3 gets injured.

2 of those 4 goals conceded were from corners which I'd argue is a team failing not just the defence. The other 2 were McFadzean's fault, so if you're dropping anyone based on mistakes leading to goals it's him.

No way I'd bin him off for Rose when he's just scored the winner and we need his experience at this early stage

To me Ostigard looks the most vulnerable for Rose, noticed he sometimes over-commits especially in the air as he's desperate to win his aerial duels. This leads to giving away a few fouls unnecessarily. Not a big thing and can be easily rectified but just something I've noticed.

Defenders scoring is a bonus but wouldn’t be the sole reason for keeping a defender in a team, I agree fadz experience and leadership is important especially with the absence of Kelly but I think our back 3 will be rose hyam and ostigard before too long

Yes I agree that will be the eventual first choice back 3, but right now Fadz has the shirt and deserves to keep it. Rose will have to wait for an injury or downturn in form.

Nice to have 4 quality centre halves with pask and drysdale looking promising too but Rose is the best of the lot for me, excluding ostigard as it’s too early too say. Less than a year on his deal he won’t stick around if he’s 4th choice for too long and there will be a lot of championship suitors. I think more would be calling for it if Fadz didn’t score the winner and it ended 2-2 on Friday.

Not so much of an issue at the moment for me all the goals conceded can be worked on, main thing is we are scoring goals.

If you look closely at this division over the years most teams concede at least more than a goal a game apart from top 2.

Look at the premier leeds conceded how many 7? Infact not many teams keeping clean sheets at all.

True, but did you note the coaching staff keep checking on him during the second half. It was clearly a calculated risk taken in selecting him to start. As for Rose - we don't need to take that risk.

Agree - MR and AV will sort out the back post at corners issue soon. I was concerned about whether we could score enough goals this season to be successful, but so far that doesn't seem to be an issue.
