I wasn’t a huge supporter of Baka last year but I have to say he looks sharp, hungry, strong and quick in pre season.

If he can keep up this approach he’s an asset off the bench as defences tire.

Decent backup and can see him possibly getting 10 goals.

He’s been fighting losing battle from the off since he got here.

24 championship players got 10 goals or more last season. We will be going some to be our 3rd choice and be on that list

He’s having a very good pre season and will be a handful for defenders. He’s learning and listening.

All competitions.

He could just as easily get 0. But I’d rather be positive.

Still would have Biamou as my 3rd choice personally but can’t knock Bakas scoring record for minutes he’s on the pitch.

Really hope we keep all four. At the very least send Biamou on loan but with option of Immediate recall if injury’s.

Dont think you are allowed recalls on loan anymore outside of transfer windows

He's come a long way. Clearly worker hard to get in shape and learn the game.

Will be on the tail of Godden and Walker.

I've always liked him and thought he had talent but he's looked really good in pre season.

He has really beefed up and is more stronger and more physical these days.

He's brilliant at one touch layoffs - when the ball is played up to him he's very capable at laying off to a midfielder to keep the move going, better than Godden at that.

Best finisher at the club by some way but attitude and not utilising his attributes made him incredibly frustrating.

Think he has more potentially in his locker to offer in Championship than Godden but still has a lot to prove.
I'd be happy with a strike 4 of Biamou/Baka/Walker/Godden tbh if we could get another forward in even better!

I'm really pleased to see Baka doing well, but from everything I've seen I wouldn't say he's the best (or even a particularly great) finisher? Godden has got much better strike instincts. Look back through his goals from last year, so many scored on the turn, or with first touch. The one he scored from the edge of the box against Wickham is a great example. A sweet left-footed strike into the corner and easily beats the keeper. Takes a good penalty too.

Not knocking Baka, and I'd love him to prove me wrong!

Baka is a better player than Biamou and is improving; there’s no time for being sentimental if we are serious about progressing.

North Leics…...unfortunately
I assume Hill means in all comps, although no JPT this season so a few less cup games.
No JPT.... Not having to be patronised by playing PL teams kids. We really are emerging from darkness. Still... it hasn’t stopped the piss taking scouse Evertonian wife looking over and smirking every time the checkertrade advert comes on TV.

I dont need a higw goal return I just as t consistency from him. Be a strong menace to defenders all game long. Hold that ball up and get in box for crosses

Still young so could all click I guess

He was good last season when he covered for Godden. All he's missing is that bit of extra aggression but his game has come on a bundle, he isn't getting caught offside much at all for example.

Was this post made on Opposite Day? Baka the best finisher but bad attitude??

I think Godden has a better strikers mentality and is cleverer by far in the way he gets into positions.

Baka when he actually does get in normally finishes really well - the problem is mentality/attitude maybe in that he does not utilise his pace and strength to get him into those positions often enough and the game can pass him by accordingly.

It looks like he is having a good pre-season so hopefully the penny is dropping I do think there is a very good player in there somewhere but now is the time to show it - i'm optimistic he will have a good season.

If budget permits and assuming we cannot afford anyone better would like us to keep all four forwards as all offer something different and allow a switch to two up front - Godden, Walker, Baka & Biamou I'd settle for that for starters.

I can see that Baka has attributes (particularly pace) and I like him, but when I am told he is a better player than Max, the one thing I want to compare is goals, which is what they are supposed to do. Off the top of my head. I can think of about 5 or 6 goals that Max has scored that all show ability/technique that are above anything Baka has got close to imo. Ask me about Baka's goals and I think of Donny at home and Charlton away. Max's goals - Swindon, Yeovil, Notts County x2, Cheltenham, all of which would appear above Baka's just in terms of a goal of the month competition. I do see what Baka's potential is in terms of physique (but I thought similar of Conor Thomas) and pace. Not knocking Baka, but just think comparatively Max has been hard done by. I know it's only my opinion, though, and it's MR's that counts!

With the quality of some of the kids we have, it’s almost a shame we can’t field a u23 team in JPT.

But we don't know how they would compare to the u23's of the top clubs. Chances are they'd run rings round ours and even give the first team a decent game. Even some of the equivalent U23's at this level would be far superior.

Some U23's at that level would walk into our first team (and are probably paid more than them too). Look at Walsh and O'Hare - integral to us but played in their U23's.

Ours would probably be more at home in the FA Vase.

Bakayoko is a much better player - it’s up to him to use his attributes or not. Greg Downes Once scored a 30 yard volley against us for Norwich - don’t think he was a great player though

I think it's time for both Baka and Biamou to move on and get regular first team football.
And I'd sooner see 1 young quality striker brought in to replace them.

Biamou is a poor mans Houchen. Bit of a cult hero who produced memorable and needed goals but actually was pretty mediocre most of the time. He managed to secure a move off his exploits and Biamou needs to do the same. He’s far too slow for this level and he’s not capable of consistent goal scoring. He can only really play as a 9 and the telling thing is he hardly scores normal striker goals and virtually none with his head.

I disagree. I do think Biamou may leave but also wouldn't be surprised to see him stay and fight.
Also Baka is only 24 so he is still young and has potential. He looks physically more imposing and if he comes on makes an impact and scores a few goals he could be worth a lot of money. West Brom signed Zahore from Cardiff for £7m and scored 3 goals last season, Gary Madine was signed for £7m and didn't score a single goal for them. If Baka continues to develop he could be a real asset.
