Didn’t change tactics that weren’t working at half time and were no threat at all 2nd half

reminds me of when keegan managed Newcastle, we’ll just try and score more than you, can go from being brilliant to games like last night, we’re so open at the back but wev‘e been getting away with it, Wrexham did to us what we’ve been doing, took their chances

I might be in the minority but we need to move on from the Asante as a 10 experiment
Can’t until rudonis back and to be fair he’s been really good at it, one of those games unfortunately, when weve got everyone fit grimes torp and rudoni prob the best in the league, we were missing 2 of them,

I don’t think Allen works in that role with Grimes. He's good energy but he doesn’t have that touch of class to make things happen. He's great at ticking things over but we need more.

That coupled with having a CF in the 10 just means we have less control.

We play Grimes, Eccles, Torp until Rudoni is fit. One of EMC or Saka drop out of the starting lineup for BTA until his goalscoring form drops off.

The histrionics are incredible. One defeat and normal service resumes.

We're top of the f&*king table with just one defeat in 13 games.

We lost last night because literally half of our 1st team were injured/coming back from injury.

We're not a bad team, Lampard isn't a bad manager who gets it wrong often. He knows what he's doing more than anyone on this board.

We lost because we've got a thin squad...that's our biggest issue. We're still in a great position to go up. One defeat doesn't change things.

If we have Thomas, Da Silva, MVE and Torp back in the starting line up on Tuesday, we'll be ok. We've proved we can win different ways when we have our best 9-11 out. Last night wasn't that. Terrible night at the office, we move on.
With all due respect, weeman (sorry LG didn't mean to include you in this reply) any histrionics that may exist aren't aimed purely at the one defeat - But the nature of it and the undeniable near misses of recent.

I get it. But the nature of the defeat has been heavily influenced by half the team being out.

And as for the near misses...we still won. We're still top!

Like I said, our biggest issue is squad depth that needs addressing in January.

I think some of the officiating went against us a bit as well, especially the offsides missed for one of their goals. It just wasn’t our night, they had a pretty much fully fit team and we were missing several key players across the back line and in midfield. It showed our main weakness which is a lack of squad depth

If we actually consider Andrewsone for the future he should have played.

Lampard tried to chance his arm getting away with a 2 man midfield again, despite it showing real weakness' the last few. It caught up with him last night.

Bad day at the office all round. Not sure if there’s any illness in camp but I thought a few looked a bit lethargic. Need more from BTA, Wright and EMC if you’re playing four forwards/two mids

Why should he, he can be a promising player and nowhere near ready for the first team. Even someone like you can understand that.

Have a good night celebrating?

Its mind boggling realy. As lampard has shown he can go conservative.

With the successfully boring 5 at the back with wing backs and 2 up front Simms/asante. And we ground out wins but we're solid.

Then he went more extravagant. in March / April.

He has shown us he's really tactically astute woth formation changes / tweaks. But I'm at a loss to explain the set up at the moment.

This was s prime chance for Andrews to show his worth ( Eccles and Torp were not ready to start).

To go with that set up is madness rather give the lad chance. Who knows we may have learnt something different.

Maybe Andrews isn't actually ready to start games either. He's not shown anything in the minutes he has had that he is ready for championship football yet.

To be fair it's a bit like last season when we reverted back to 4 at the back.
We were getting away with the highline at home but getting punished away.

We've gotten away with being light in midfield at home but got punished last night though player availability was definitely a factor

If you want to quell the 'you were celebrating Wrexhams victory' narrative you are probably better off not posting comments like this.
I was gutted and the only people who are suggesting I was "celebrating their victory" are those who doubled down on them being shite despite me pointing out they weren't and got shown up.

I think you ride it out for as long as he’s playing well, but it’s hard to believe that he’ll sustain the levels he’s been playing at for a whole season. The football equivalent of the Star power-up in Mario.

There midfield is bang average and none of them gets near our team. Sheaf maybe, if he wasnt made of balsa wood, but he is which is why we punted him.
And I stand by that despite how much you big them up.

Even against Jamie Allen O'brien didn't look great but they did enough last night granted.

Clint said many of the same things you said and he accused you of celebrating Wrexham's victory.

So let us keep things truthful. Also forgive me but I now read your posts in Donald Trumps voice.

I said they were good championship players, most were making out they were complete shite which was disingenuous. Most took for granted we would take them apart.

They're a below average Championship team, as their results and underlying data suggest. A honking performance against them doesn't change that.
I mean saying we should have had enough means something very different in their world.

Woke up still angry about that performance in the second half. Wrexscum were dominant and we struggled to string together simple passes. If we want to go up automatically, we can’t be so naive and failing at the basics - to teams like Wrexham.

I think the reality of the situation on reflection is that Lampard simply didn’t think he had the tools to fix it.

Mentioned in his press conference that he thought it was coming at half time. On the back three, unless you put Bidwell there, we didn’t have the numbers.

As much as we moan about Allen, Andrews against sheaf would have been a huge ask. The result was simply depth catching up with us.

Hopefully we should start to see Eccles, Torp and Rudoni back soon which will fix a lot of our midfield issues from the last couple of games. Plus Thomas which will give us the flexibility to go back three again (or even Lati).

But last night proved how much we need depth especially if we want to make the most of our start
