No team goes through a championship season having it all their own way.

Look at two of the best weve encountered, Leeds last year, dropped points to all the relegated teams.
Fulham, we spanked them, twice.
Even if we stay chasing the autos, it will happen again, its the nature of the league.

It was,a shit result and performance but I don't think people should get hung up on it.

Watford XG was 2.71 to our 1.31

Blackburn XG was 1.14 to our 0.88

Wrexham XG 1.59 to 1.38

XG isn’t everything and this is still a phenomenal start. Just worried about how we are starting to struggle especially to teams who look to exploit our high line and press us and want to see us take charge of matches again like Birmingham for example where we dominated from minute 1.

Lost it in the midfield and not surprising, we‘ll be fine Tuesday, midfield of Grimes torp and Asante, normal service resumed,

It’s mad, never want to lose a game and especially not there but could be the reality check we needed, only Slight worry, thought woolfenden would slot straight in, hopefully just a one off, and rudoni still a huge miss, especially in games like that

I don't think that's fair .
Individual errors and a few questionable decisions were the major difference.
Wrexham are a decent side though who exploited our frailties tonight

I’ve said this before, but I think our defensive record this season is very deceptive. Even during that string of clean sheets, I felt we were lucky that teams seemed to be fluffing a hell of a lot of very good chances.

Our goal threat is clear to see, and let’s not forget that we scored twice away from home tonight which you’d hope would be enough for three points. But whenever we lose possession we’ve looked really vulnerable to easy counter-attacks, and that’s been the case all season IMO regardless of the stats.

At 1-0 up away from home, but starting to come under the cosh, I’m surprised that we didn’t do anything to tighten things up until it was too late. The open approach has brought so much brilliant entertainment this season, but sometimes you just need to be more pragmatic.

Wright has been very poor since coming back from the States, could he still be knackered? Or is he missing the passing of Torp?

Luxury of being so far in front so early - Things will change now.
Saka's brilliant goal just dulling the thrashing scoreline I have recently been predicting.
It will deffo happen if we keep playing in the cavalier front foot and defensively naive fashion we have been playing.

Bossed that first half, commendable tactic (where it previously never existed) of constantly going on the front foot foot for more goals but can't defend for toffee.
Hopefully now those in denial will realise how fortunate we have been previously to have not conceded more goals than we have.

I don’t think Allen works in that role with Grimes. He's good energy but he doesn’t have that touch of class to make things happen. He's great at ticking things over but we need more.

That coupled with having a CF in the 10 just means we have less control.

We play Grimes, Eccles, Torp until Rudoni is fit. One of EMC or Saka drop out of the starting lineup for BTA until his goalscoring form drops off.

There's been no shield for our back 4. No coincidence the defence has looked so shaky last 3 games.

There was still still time to change it at half time and he failed miserably.

We made their midfield 3 look like spains finest. It was so bad.
We all called it out as soon as team news was announced

It's like starting games with huge handicap playing with 4 attackers.

Let's get back how this run started vs Birmingham/millwall etc.

The last few teams we played have been confident from min one because of our set up.

Not sure I agree with this entirely. It's true of the games since the international break, where we've played this 2 in midfield system and, up until last night, our superior firepower has seen us through.

Prior to that, though, we looked solid and gave little away.

With BTA's form, I think Lampard's tried to accommodate all our forwards at the expense of a midfielder, which has made us much more susceptible to being attacked and exposed our back line. Last night was the first time it's cost us, but it could have in our last two home games, too.

It’s probably the case the Torp and Eccles might not be 100% ready to play a full 90…

Allen also scored at the weekend so didn’t deserve to be dropped.

That all said, I’m not a huge fan of Allen and Grimes playing together.

This is fair, and whilst criticising the selection, there should be the caveat that there may not have been an option. We were very depleted.

My gut feeling is Lampard sacrificed this game for the greater good. He decided taking too many risks with players carrying minor injuries was not worth it.

He also released the pressure valve of remaining undefeated and it gives him the chance to reset and go again, albeit that may be after the international break.

I do feel that a certain undercurrent in the fan base were expected us to go the whole season undefeated, genuinely.

Doesn’t help that the sporting media latched on to ‘Lampards undefeated sky blues’ and the hype was ramped up when we smashed those 29 goals in whichever amount of games.

Suddenly it’s a case of expectation vs reality and we’re ’only scoring 2’ against teams and not looking as dominant.

Great start, regardless. The mark of this team and coaching setup will be if we’re still in sight of autos after March-ish.

Don't buy that for one min.

Eccles has been fit was even on bench last match.

Torp was almost ready last match but not risked. One or both could have started.

To not bring on either at half time was madness.

1 nil completely flattered us at half time.

The histrionics are incredible. One defeat and normal service resumes.

We're top of the f&*king table with just one defeat in 13 games.

We lost last night because literally half of our 1st team were injured/coming back from injury.

We're not a bad team, Lampard isn't a bad manager who gets it wrong often. He knows what he's doing more than anyone on this board.

We lost because we've got a thin squad...that's our biggest issue. We're still in a great position to go up. One defeat doesn't change things.

If we have Thomas, Da Silva, MVE and Torp back in the starting line up on Tuesday, we'll be ok. We've proved we can win different ways when we have our best 9-11 out. Last night wasn't that. Terrible night at the office, we move on.
