quote from Coventry Mad credited to Jim Brown - suspect something lost in translation. How can it be a first if we not broken the record!! I saw a few of the away wins in 69/70, the last two were at Forest and Wolves.

Coventry City's 2-0 League One win at Bury on Saturday was another first for the club.
It was the first time that City have won nine away leagues games in a season.
There have been five previous occasions when there have been eight away victories - in 1937-38, 1938-39, 1963-64, 2001-02 & 2003-04.
The record for City away league wins in a season is ten, set under Noel Cantwell in the old Division One in 1969-70; a feat that earned a sixth place finish and qualification for the old UEFA Fairs Cup.

I guess it's saying that we've never won exactly nine before - we've won 8 and we've won 10, but never 9. Hopefully by the end of the season we'll have a "proper" new record.

I was at the Wolves game too. If I remember correctly, Brian Joicey scored.

I know we didn't win many last season home or away, but our away form has been outstanding this season. Complete contrast to last season.

From memory I thought it was Shepherd, a very early goal.

Yes lets hope it carries on, I think since the change in manager we have won 9 from 12 away games

I think we'll have 12-13 wins at the end of season, Pompey, Scunny, Crawley, Wallsall, Notts County, Bournemouth left.
