I have a mate who is a Blues supporter looking for somewhere to have a drink before/after the game. Can anyone recommend anywhere? Thanks.

Casino is probably the best / only option. There's no a lot of places around the ground for home fans let alone away fans!

your mate will do well to find any pubs near the ground being as its in the middle of nowhere....

......Longford Engine is probably his/her best bet:)

I heard Birmingham fans were not being allowed in the Casino Tuesday?

I'm starting to wonder if someone at the stadium wants there to be trouble. No trains to get Brum fans from the station in town to the ground. Not going to let them in the casino so you'll end up with them wandering around trying to find places locally. It doesn't seem like a great plan.

Can’t they just go in the ground and drink?

My Blues mates sitting with me in the home end. He can be a dick sometimes so I’m concerned about his reaction if they score. He’s a big unit but I will personally slap him if he gets a bit naughty.

Don’t worry Rob … he’s not on our row in block 1….I’ve moved seats…. Because of this.
I don’t want to put at risk losing the Foxs glacier mints that get passed around by my fellow ST holders. God knows it’s taken long enough to get in the boiled sweet inner circle!!!

The Hub Pub (on Google as Kyushu Grill) and the Bull and Anchor, both on Wheelwright Lane are usually fine with away fans as long as they’re not idiots

I too am a fan of the glacier mint, once accidentally gobbed one into the hair of a lady sat infront of me when celebrating a goal. 1 slight complaint though, they get super sticky if you think you can be sneaky and get a bag to last more than a week. Those toffee eclairs are good too.

Casino
Dhillons
Anecdote
Cherry Tree
Parkgate
Craffy
Hub
Wheatsheaf
Gas
Longford Engine
Coach and Horses
Greyhound (at a stretch)

Does that cover "near the ground" ?

any more?

Longford Engine is usually full of away fans when there is any significant following.

Expecting a dicey back walk down the canal after the game when we’ve inevitably scored a 93rd minute winner. Payback for that (what felt like eight legged) cup tie defeat on penalties two seasons ago.

Duly noted…will restrict them to half time where the only celebration is when my ST mate gets a round in. Any advice on humbugs ?

Yes, actually. If you unwrap each humbug and place them all in a bowl, add a tiny bit of water and let them all soak for 5-7 minutes, once soaked drain away excess water, proceed to collect all soft humbugs in your hand, squeeze tightly to form a ball. Leave in the fridge over night. You now have a cricket ball sized humbug than can be used as you please. I use mine as a paperweight

If you leave a bag of Haribo in your car in the summer you end up with one massive Haribo!

This. Absolutely myth that there's nothing for home fans.

If the casino allows away fans, that's a unique option for them.

Saw a young lad wearing a M'Boro shirt playing pool in The Anecdote.

"The Anecdote Bar at the stadium will also be open for Sky Blues fans only, both pre-match and after the game with a range of food and drink available."

Says the same in the other guides too

Surely just don't wear colours/act like a tool and you can drink wherever and with whoever you want?

This. No one is checking if you're an away fan in the Anecdote if you hide your shirt.

He'd gave probably been fine our side Neil, although if you've moved the socially distanced block 29 near Harry is probably a good idea 🤣
