Must be one of the youngest starting 11s in English football .
22 years of age .
Do we expect too much from such a young side sometimes ? Are we still a good 2 -3 years off seeing the best of some of these players and does age really factor in to our recent bad run and our inability to pull out of it quickly ?
Very young side and squad tbh
I think nick and Grendel expect too much. Everyone else on here seem pretty realistic

Agree, let them get used to each other and see where they will be so they can form a partnership. As long as we can keep it on the ground and work crosses in then it will be promising. It's good to get a win to end the year on and break a poor run that was becoming a worry. We are doing okay and if we finish around 14th to 12th it will be a good season back in league 1 and show progress. Anything higher will be a bonus. I am still prepared to give most our signings time to bed in and improve. The one who really should be firing by now is JCH and he isn't, he just doesn't have the right competitive attitude for me. Time to give Hiwula a run down the middle with Chaplin and give them a good six matches before judging.
PotentialYes, expecting simple passes to not be fired into the stand.
Seems that people are willing to accept awfulness.
What's that got to do with when people discuss things on match threads about what is happening there and then?Potential
Potential
Seems people are willing to accept not awfulness but potential. Potential means mistakes, potential means misplaced passes, means missed tackles and runs but also means great strikes and excellent tackles and surprising good moves. If we want to watch top class football we are watching the wrong clubWhat's that got to do with when people discuss things on match threads about what is happening there and then?

What explains yours and grendels comments of Bayliss yesterday before he got the winner? Most people gave him a bang average 6 you guys were at 3? It’s fineOf course.
It doesn't mean people should put their fingers in their ears if people play really bad and try and pretend it didn't happen. Likewise when they play really well.
It is discussed game by game, a player might have a shocker one game and the game of his life the next.
To just say "yeah but potential" doesn't really excuse things.
The fact that before he scored and apart from a ten minute spell be was awful. Simple passes going out of play, running into danger and giving them the ball to counter attack. Moaning at his team mates when he messed up.What explains yours and grendels comments of Bayliss yesterday before he got the winner? Most people gave him a bang average 6 you guys were at 3? I agreeI think the OP has a very good point. Young players swing in and out of form and it’s a very simple fact. They just don’t have experience it’s as simple as that so swings of form in such a young team should be expected. So yes. A small majority of our fans do expect too much.
Why do people keep harping on about players ages?
Pele and Michael Owen both scored in the World Cup finals when they were 17!
Plenty of 17-19 year olds have played at a much higher level than L1.
If you are good enough, you are old enough.
Young players are usually faster, fitter and have quicker recovery times, so they do have some advantages over older players.
No ones doubting individual talent. But how many teams that are as young as ours win titles? Very few.

They share so many idiotic opinions anyone might think they are the same person.
I agree, ive played against younger players at local league level and they always managed to make the majority of their passes count so I cannot understand how come someone who plays every single day to fuck up so many times during a match? Is it laziness too casual or lack of ability?Yes, expecting simple passes to not be fired into the stand.

The only reason the team has a young average age is that the senior signings Robins has made have been poor

What were your views about their performance yesterday? Feel free to point out what was idiotic about the comments about the performance and why....
Not really, you can see it’s part of a wider transfer recruitment policy. Even with Ogogo and Brown starting, we’d have a starting eleven that is about the 2nd or 3rd youngest in the division. We had an average age below 24 with Doyle in the team. The age gap between Ogogo, Andreu and Kelly is pretty minimal.
You’re presenting a half truth. Whichever way you paint it, the squad is a young one. Young teams need time to develop.

Is there a list by average age? How did you calculate we are second to third youngest?
