I'll be delighted if we hit 30K. That would require around 29K home tickets being sold though (presuming they have sold 1K). I hope I'm wrong but I will be amazed if this isn't our lowest crowd of the season. It's not a few thousand though. Block 9 holds just over a thousand. 1/3rd of which arn't on sale. Then there a couple of hundred left in the South East corner. There's not too much more than a thousand tickets left in the home ends and that number will only decrease leading upto the game on Saturday.
We'll still be pushing 30K on Saturday, the only thing that will stop that is the away tickets sold and corporate.
A few thousand. Hopefully this will make Doug see that there are only very specific games where the public will swallow £45 tickets.
Its clearly worked for Swansea on boxing day.
Leicester feels like it will due to the rivalry.
Birmingham - their fans are heady with thinking they will be in the Champions league in 3 years so will pay anything
West Brom who we have no rivalry with on TV at lunchtime a few weeks before Christmas. No.
Completely agree. All of those matches in that scenario will have a huge draw. They could probably intorduce a Band A++and still sell-out.Come March/April if we’re up the top it’ll sell out every week whatever the price. It’s not about an early kickoff a week after they’ve done it.
Yeah definitely good pricing for Ipswich and Millwall. I thought the same and was expecting at least Cat A for Ipswich for all of them reasons you said.Fair play to Doug for charging Cat B for Ipswich. They could have easily exploited the Christmas period/Promotion Clash/Ex-Prem side idea and gone for A or A+.
Leicester as expected £45 and Millwall only £25.
This. Its going to be 28K+, as above close ish to 30k and people are creating a narrative its some sort of disaster!!!It's not a few thousand though. Sold about 20 tickets in the last 24 hours.
Lol.
Think it might pick up in next 48 hrs and we may sell another 80.
Not a disaster by any means. But it clearly sells out at Cat B like Charlton will. Probably at Cat A as well as there wouldn’t have been any furore made by West Brom and they’d have sold their 2.8K.This. Always was an odd decision to make WBA Cat A+ IMO. Can only imagine as it was a sell out last year (or very close to) as an indication of a rivalry between us and the same appetite would be there again this season. Not a disaster by any means. But it clearly sells out at Cat B like Charlton will. Probably at Cat A as well as there wouldn’t have been any furore made by West Brom and they’d have sold their 2.8K.
The pricing has definitely had an impact on sales.
I’m not sure it will, I used to think it would but I think the ceiling has now been hit at £45 a ticket. It’s a shame it won’t be a full house for this one.Come March/April if we’re up the top it’ll sell out every week whatever the price. It’s not about an early kickoff a week after they’ve done it.

Castlemaine xxxx in our barThey never went away. It's just now only Skol or Kestrel.
This game will have sold more home tickets than any in the history of the arena won’t it?
Really? There’s loads left in the north stand and about 20 have been sold in block 9.This game will have sold more home tickets than any in the history of the arena won’t it?

I think I was being optimistic with another 80 tickets to sell. Literally a dozen more sold in last 24 hours. Same empty seats we saw yesterday morning.Sold about 20 tickets in the last 24 hours.

Yep I think that’s rightI think I was being optimistic with another 80 tickets to sell. Literally a dozen more sold in last 24 hours. Same empty seats we saw yesterday morning.
Would be selling high 100s in few days before a match usually. £45 and £35 kids at this time of the year is beyond mental.
It'll be interesting to see the approach from here with A+ games. Clearly misjudged this one like you say.Yep I think that’s right
Still gonna be an excellent attendance and the club have done some packages but maybe just miscalled this particular one
The biggest downside is that there will be people missing out cause they can’t afford it
Just looking at tickets for my lad back from uni over Xmas
over a £100 for Bristol, Swansea and Ipswich!!!
It’s a lot
I don’t mean to be picky at all though you can’t get everything correctIt'll be interesting to see the approach from here with A+ games. Clearly misjudged this one like you say.

Suspect that as there's now regularly a shortage of tickets people have got into the habit of getting them earlier.I think I was being optimistic with another 80 tickets to sell. Literally a dozen more sold in last 24 hours. Same empty seats we saw yesterday morning.

Yep sorry if that’s meThere's going to be 29kish there tomorrow and I love how people are acting like it's a disaster
I agreee...There's going to be 29kish there tomorrow and I love how people are acting like it's a disaster
It sells out no question whatsoever at Cat B.Suspect that as there's now regularly a shortage of tickets people have got into the habit of getting them earlier.
Also not sure you can label any game not 100% sold out a failure. Is Kings priority to fill every single seat or to maximise revenue? Ideally both I suspect but there's no guarantee if you knocked a fiver off the tickets they'd be sold.
It won't be anywhere near 29k imo.I agreee...
Despite the WBA boycotting, they will bring about the same amount as Blackburn, the gate that day was 29,606.
Before adding the extra 650 seats in block 9, there were about 500 tickets left.
Now it's the main match on Sky so expect a camera in the lower part of block 25 taking out about 200.
There will be a flourish of late deciders on Friday & Saturday morning adding a 200 more.
So comfortably 29k ish
It won't be anywhere near 29k imo.
2000 less in away end. Including the block they opened for us.
Still about 600 tickets left in general area.
At least 600 unsold in upper tier.
Add in segregation area. That's about 4k not sold.

I don't think you can. Average out the cost and charge the same to everyone.Doug needs to stop being greedy and price these games normally. Only Leicester at a push can you justify £45.
