Attendances next season (5 Viewers)

If we don't get promoted which is most probable, I think the attendances will drop significantly. As I get the feeling many supporters this season were excited about experiencing a new league and actually being contenders for play-offs. Where as by the end of this season they'll just be fed up and frustrated and almost bored at the thought of having to spend another whole season in league 1.

But I've heard many people say that they've never enjoyed supporting coventry as much as they have this season. So I'm not sure

It depends on our finish this season, who we draft in as manager and how we develop the team over the summer. It'll probably start quite high. People know we needed time to reconstruct ourselves as a club and a team so, the start of next season should be the fruits of that labour.

Tbh I'm sick of home games. I can't afford to go to many away and that's where people have been enjoying it but at home it's possibly one of the worst seasons ever

Completely agree, we're a terrible home team. Walsall was good, though.

Attendances will drop.

Absolutely no doubt about it.

A fair few people thought in League One we would be right up there in and around the top 6 all season.

Next season could well be even tougher. You can't just look at the teams we have to play this season, there will also be 3 Championship teams coming down too and they may well likely be favourites for the League One title next year.

I think we will drop down to about 9,000 next year.

Unless we make the play-offs this or get incredibly close with a great finish to this season.

TBH they are way above what I thought for this season and like Gary Jones I think around that ,which is where i thought we'd be this season.

you must win at home 'cause thats where you make your money,Home form has been utter crap this season apart from a couple of matches.Fans aren't coming to the home matches anymore, some I know only go away.

Add me to that list! ---Im livid after today. We dont win when we expect too (and really need too) - and win when we all think we are going to be thrashed. Away from home the expectation is that the home team will win and we seem to revel in that - but when we are at The Ricoh they need to stand up like men and be counted. They are such a let down!
Im totally pissed off!
I wish I didnt give a shit but they have totally ruined my weekend! AGAIN!:(

We are a totally different team away from home and it has been very enjoyable. Games at the Ricoh have been utter shit and depressing.

I've enjoyed this season more than any for the last 13 years. It started poorly but particularly November and December we were fantastic on the pitch, quality goals, passing and movement, tremendous support especially away, January still kept us in the hunt despite losing McG but then we lost Robbo to the football Dollar as well and now the bubbles burst a bit. I think this season is going to end mid table but with a decent new manager, and a positive resolution to the off field shenanigans then there is no reason why at this level CCFC cannot be right up there next year. Its up to the powers to be but my guess is if we have stability and a constructive and amicable solution by June then we will succeed next year........................... if we don't then the club will be fucked by Christmas at the earliest and thank God because I for one am sick to death of the corporates who are hammering the nails in the coffin.

question about attendances... when the season average attendance is worked out, does this count just league games, or all competitive fixtures?

OK so we won't get the Crewe 31k game bumping us up...but nor will the Burton and Arlesley games drag us down!!

To be fair even if it were included, it's such a red herring of a number that it probably wouldn't have much impact on the average. For all his deceit and deviousness, TF is correct when he says that what can be spent on the team is directly controlled by the club's revenue-so unless crowds pick up substantially next season (extremely doubtful), we can expect the current squad to be further trimmed and any replacements to be of even lower quality.

Getting out of this league needs a combined effort from the fans right up to the boardroom-anybody with the money and means to go, and with an interest in seeing the club succeed, should be going up every week, otherwise we'll be stuck for a very long time.

I've haven't had so much fun watching the City, since the prem days!

We've had a win against higher league and local rivals Brum, in what was a great night.

We've been to Arsenal and Spurs away.

Had a brilliant run in the JPT, which has resulted in a sell out.

Some high scoring games!

Having two leading goal scorers!

Some of the best away days the club has seen... Stevenage, Donny, Sheff Utd, Bury, the two prem away days, Leyton and hartlepool.
Plus to add to that an away day of 5000 city travelling! Plus a funny night at Crewe.

If we can regroup, sort out the team, the manager and the stadium ownership... AND we properly go for automatics and the Play Offs, I believe next season could be one of the best.

I'll be renewing my season ticket!

I think we have around 10k hardcore so it will be around this.

If we have 6k season ticket holders thats 4k paying for tickets per match. It will be around this.

It's been an exciting season.

I still think we will get over 10,000 at most games.

This season has been a strong learning curve for us. It will better equip ourselves for next season.

Don't think we will make the playoffs this year but have a good feeling about next year.

Crowds will not fall next season. They are already the lowest for 30 seasons this year, and have well and truly bottomed out. We have a achieved an average of 11K this season with only 6.5K ST holders, and I expect ST numbers to increase next season - certainly those I know who didn't renew this season are getting one again next season, not least because they are fed up of all the hassle getting away tickets when there is high demand.

I agree with ferret, I do not think the attendances will drop next season.
If we were to go up they would increase but I think if we say in Div 1 we will be near the top, may have a decent manager and new faces they will remain between 10-12k.

What else would someone like me do on a Saturday?

I think we should drop ST prices and match day prices for next season, get as many through the gates as possible, hopefully a winning team (at home) can accompany this.

This is a thread about home attendances...take it you haven't been much to the Ricoh this season? Yesterday was depressing.
