Subject to safety considerations though.

The Football Association has outlined the process for deciding away ticket allocations at FA Cup with Budweiser ties.

A spokesman for the competition said: "FA Cup rules allow for an away allocation of up to 15% of the home stadium.

"However this is subject to the local Safety Advisory Group (SAG) agreeing to that ticket allocation number.”

As ever, the Key element is “up to”.

There isn’t a club in the land that doesn’t make provision for 15%.

It’s 15% unless there is a reason to restrict it (not wanting to move season ticket holders would not be a valid reason)

Saw a charity game down there day after we beat Wolves 3-1 at HR 1976 (Alan Green hat trick)
Sky Blues 11 v Tiswas 11.
It doesn't get more serious than that.

Depends on how SAG would view the segregation arrangements inside and outside the ground given the new home arrangements behind the goal.

I don’t think Luton provide 15% - so there is at least one club in the land that doesn’t.

Being pedantic, at the other end of the scale

”Prior to the semi-final and final, which are played at Wembley, visiting clubs are allowed up to 15 per cent of all tickets for the stadium they are playing at.

That is unless 15 per cent of the stadium exceeds 9,000. So clubs travelling to Old Trafford, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the London Stadium and the Emirates Stadium will have their allocations capped at 9,000, unless the home clubs are willing to offer more.”

Being realistic, I’m sure Doug would like to see the ground full if one of the big 4 or Villa came to play. I would imaging there would be some negative reaction however if people have been turfed out of their safe standing behind the goal, forced to sit somewhere else and their ST places end up being empty.

Has to be the first time in decades we've had 4 attendances over 30k in a season (3 in the league + Ipswich in the cup) and you wouldn't bet against making that 5 v Boro. I'm guessing you'd have to go back to the 60/70's.

It's not that many seasons ago when away fans used to sing " your grounds to big for you " lol.

The average this season will end up being just under 28k, which will be the 5th highest in our history.

The other 4 seasons being the year we got promoted, and the following 3 seasons in division 1.

So in our entire history the only time it’s been higher is when we’ve finished higher.

it used to wind me up no end hearing people say a capacity of 20,000 would be fine, and that we’d struggle to ever fill the ground even in the Premier League. It’s a different game now and if by some miracle we did go up a capacity of 32,000 would not nearly be enough. Potential is huge, we were just very late to start realising it.

Yup. Remember when some said a ground share with Cov Rugby and a capacity of between 12,500 and 15,000 would be more than enough for us.

I always believed the Ricoh/CBS was not too big for us and that we would fill it if we were doing well.

It was described as soulless, but that was only because it was half empty and also because we weren't doing at all well.

Averaged over 2000 more than last season and we've halved the away end size too

I had a flick through (thanks SkyBlueArchive – The history Coventry City) and it looks like was 69/70 was the last season it happened when we had 13 30k+ attendances. 70/71 had 3 so we've just overtaken that
