Shite is an overreaction. I genuinely doubt many home fans across the country made more noise than we did today, especially first half, but by our high standards this season it was subdued.

Derby fans were similar to Sunderland. Big numbers but absolutely fuck all in terms of noise until they started to look on top and then for 5 minutes after they scored. What is the point in travelling if you’re going to be silent

Wasn't shite and had absolutely nothing to do with the size of the crowd today and everything to do with how the game panned out. No more people in block 15/16 than at any other game this season, it is full every week.

All valid points.

Just feel vocally it was wank.

And the blokes behind me slating sheaf after literally the first minute, then sitting on their arse when an attempt at a song was made grinds my gears.

It was definitely the worst this season.

Certainly not bad, but flat at times. Telegraph stand was pretty much silent and sat down all game.

What a stupid thing to say

We play well and win- atmosphere great. We don’t play as well and don’t win- atmosphere not as good. Jesus, hold the front page.

It’s much better to grow crowds, keeping them & turning them into regulars is the trick.. something which we’ve struggled with

Course, but there were 3x as many in the Telegraph today. It was disappointing that there was almost nothing from them.

I'm in block 15 and really enjoyed it, as usual.

I suppose the pertinent phrase in your post is 'this season'.

Still quality home support and miles better than the home support of Milwall, Blackburn and Preston (my three away trips so far).

Always said numbers doesnt correlate to atmosphere.

Wasnt as rocking as in previous.

That 15 minuteperiod when the crowd was more interested in the trouble than the match. Really pissed me off. I couldn't give one shit about the trouble just wanted to watch the match.

That distraction really didn't help as it got their fans up and ours concentrating on non football whilst 1 nil up.

Derby were the loudest of the away support this season when they got going (I was away for the Forest game). Compared to previous seasons at The Ricoh, the home support was cracking. There was singing in The Telegraph stand too, but it obviously tends to 'echo' The Singers Corner's songs. I sang (badly) too in Block 31, but seemed to 'annoy' the older chap, who decide to sit in front of me in the second half (despite not being there in the first half) whenever I started hollering (in my correct seat!) I nearly moved, but couldn't remember @Tommo1993 seat number.

I thought it was pretty good up until the trouble then it kind of lost its way. I didn't stop singing and was loud around me (15). Couldn't get the Gyokeres chant right in my head. I'm taking credit for getting twist and shout going.

Somehow felt a little flat. Not saying it wasn't good because it was (if that makes sense) but wasn't as raucous, exciting, downright bloody brilliant as it has been in recent matches, but still dead proud of us. Onwards and upwards.

Trying too hard to get the Gyokeres song going, tried it 6 or 7 times and it didn't get past block 16.

Taken directly from the Derby forum

“A shout out for the Coventry crowd, really got behind their team from all sides of the ground. A big contrast with the last time I was there when the place was three quarters empty against Swindon. That was only three years ago - what a transformation. There's no wonder they've won every home game with that noise behind them. “

Watched the game on beIN Sports, they said loads of times about the noise the home fans were making.
I usually watch via iFollow and we do normally sound louder, i assumed it was due to a different position for beIN Sports rather than ifollow. From what you lot are saying it was quieter. I would love beIN Sports to come to a game when we are in full flow.
Was sill loud but deffo sounded down from previous games.
I was sat with Forest fans and they wanted us to win, said we were not the same team that beat them.
I think we are allowed a blip, overachieving and hope we can keep that up.
Midtable for me would be great if you look at the table, only 2 points between 5th and 13th. Hull away next game so could be down to 11th (prob not, just done points not who play each other).

Thought the atmosphere was a bit flat today personally. Not as loud as the other games this session. Probably a reflection of today’s performance perhaps?

Singers corner more interested in boozing, trolling Derby fans and going for a piss today. Looked across 5 minutes before half time and half the corner was empty so I assume the rest were in the concourse.
Very unpleasant, rowdy atmosphere in the concourse before the game.
Nobody wearing masks despite close proximity. Covid spike in 2 weeks.

Not understanding this either. It sounded really good to me too. The ESPN commentators kept fawning over the home support and how much noise the the SBA were making.

You can’t spunk over attendance numbers then complain the extra bodies didn’t know the fucking song lyrics

I guess some would prefer the 1500 that went to Northampton or the 6k regulars that followed city to Birmingham?

Interesting... Just what do you expect when the team is running on low? It certainly wasn't a Gospel Choir from where I was sitting but it wasn't that bad considering our only goal came from the penalty spot. And the crowd did all of the 'normal' things when a ball hit the bar or a goal is disallowed. (Or hits our post).

'Stand up if you love City is a bit pointless really'. Why? Because taking my £30 up there is good enough for me mate.

It's a shame that I have not been up to the city since the club marched off to Birmingham. I was surprised how much is new even in those few years. Some chants were not familiar, the players weren't either! All credit to the fans who have been there but maybe give things will take a bit of time before the whole crowd is with you on this? It would have been totally different with a 4-1 scoreline.

Also, the game reminded me of what Highfield Rd used to be like at times. And there were times when HR was as quiet as Old Trafford. All depends on what is being put out on the pitch. It was refreshing to be in a crowd that was not on the player's backs (Where I was sitting anyway).

I do understand where the OP is coming from. Ironically it was fine until we scored and then seemed to go a bit flat. Then second half was more hostile than supportive. Definitely felt different from other home games.

Nobody has worn masks at any games we've played this season either.

What does that have to do with anything?
