Atmosphere was ok but so many stupid moments - getting frustrated at not pressing the keeper, calling for it to go forward at every opportunity etc. Plus WLADITT was cocked up by having someone talk over it then putting the words up out of time. And the mass exodus at 2-0 was embarrassing. Did feel like we've become entitled as a fanbase.

Went to West Ham v Brighton tonight and used a mate’s season ticket in a good spot among the WH hardcore fans. Bubbles was good at the start and there was the odd ‘Irons’ but generally not a lot of singing. Brighton fans were rubbish. WH had no player songs but did sing two anti-Lampard ones. Was considerably colder than at our game last night and a lot left around 80 minutes when it was 2-2. Aside from the atmosphere, a few booed Callum Wilson when he was subbed off.

They're still singing about a player that did something to upset them 25 years ago?
You sure you weren't at a Sunderland game instead?!

Nervousness is causing alot of the atmosphere to be a bit flat I think. We are no longer blowing teams away so we as Coventry fans haven't been in this position for so long and when we do we no how to blow it.Plus performances having been great lately a few wins and hopefully it will come back.

Always fins it weird when people leave early, particularly if the game still has something to play for. Not as annoying though as people leaving their seat on 88 minutes or whatever and then standing on the stairs in front of seated fans so they can't see.

The go down on 35 minutes/come back up on 55 minutes crowd are also fucking annoying.

Brighton fans don’t have much in their repertoire besides ‘Albion’ and ‘Good Old Sussex By The Sea’.

100% we all fear blowing this lead and not going up, let’s be honest.

I said earlier I thought the atmosphere was good generally. You always have quiet spells during lulls in the game etc but you can sense a nervousness

Always leave early these days… I have an hour drive home and I just can’t be arsed to be stuck in a car park for an hour leading up to the hour drive. This is us too. After 30+ years of staying to applaud the players win, lose or draw, home and away, we leave a few minutes before the end. It’s mix of health related reasons and responsibilities at home that mean we can’t afford to get stuck in the car park. We don’t like doing it but it’s just a necessity for us where we are in our lives now.

While I appreciate being stuck in traffic can be a pain, but unless you urgently need to get away why not stay and watch the whole game, and then hang around until the traffic has died down? If I were you I'd go to the casino (you don't have to gamble), grab a coffee, catch up with the other results and watch whichever 'legend' is present doing their thing, then go to your car with no traffic to face.

There's been a couple of comments that people are leaving to get out before they get stuck in the car park. Do the road closures not start until the final whistle?

I’ve supported that club for over 30 years. I’ve probably sung loudly on about 5 occasions. It’s just not in some people’s nature.
For you to suggest that you’re a better fan because you sing is astonishing arrogance

Judging Doug’s statement, it’s not astonishing arrogance is it - he thinks the same. I think those of us that do sing and back the lads and stay till the end are more ‘special’ than those that contribute fuck all, stand in silence and fuck off when we go 2-0 down.

Your opinion is as wrong as Ron Atkinson’s on Marcel Desailly.

I hope you sit in the North Stand with all the others that want to watch the atmosphere and sit in silence.

Away atmosphere decent again today, my only issue is with the lack of effort at home and minimal backing of the team. Doug King has rightly called out our fans for lack of backing the team and walking out - clearly he feels the same. Fuck all to do with a childish ‘you’re saying you’re a super fan’ defence. You may as well sit with the JSB’s.

Clearly the squad need us to get over the line, as today suggests. So why wouldn’t you back the team - vocally. An atmosphere and backing of the team isn’t made by sitting in silence.

Ron Atkinson was a wank manager for us and you’re right, his actions showed he was a racist sunbed bandit.

No pay attention. He used racist words, however his actions showed him to be one of the biggest anti racists in football of his day.
He massively advanced the presence of black footballers in this country. What have you done?

If the atmosphere was good today, why was it the worst performance of the season?

The appointment of Ron Atkinson was the start of the clubs financial problems which ultimately led to Sisu L2 and almost going out of business

Would be much easier if they just had retractable power ballads they could raise up and down at a moments notice but they've not been popular since the 80's.

The home atmosphere has been on a gradual decline for about 2 years now. The first 3 or so years after the return to the CBS it was incredible, bouncing almost all game start to finish. If anything, it got louder after we went a goal down, so the excuses about results/performances are rubbish.

Several opposition fans would regularly say we're the best home fans they've seen in years. Robins and the players would often attribute some of the wins and draws we got when we weren't at our best to the fans spurring them on to raise their game.

The reason is difficult to pinpoint, as there are several:

- the moving of the away fans
- the dispersement of some of the corner to next to the away fans
- the loss of our best player songs
- the novelty of the return wearing off
- fans getting complacent at being 'the best in the league' we probably still are as most home fans are quiet from my experience (bar Middlesbrough and Swansea) but not a patch on the cauldron of noise when we would sing all game, or like the Leeds win when we cheered almost every tackle
- dare I even say the loss of the drummer

I think it's a combination of the above, but these are all excuses that would never stop us before, during all the shit years and resurgence we still made as much noise as possible.

In my opinion, it is all the Johnny-come-lately fans now we've had some success. There's expectation, and they never used to come as regularly when we were shite. The saturation of these fans into the corner after some moved behind the goal has made it almost impossible to carry the songs on past a half arsed effort that stops immediately. You'd think the unbelievable start to the season would kick-start the atmosphere, but even when we were blowing teams away, the atmosphere wasn't exactly incredible. Not a patch on an average game 3 years ago.

People keep coming up with excuses about being nervous or a drop in results, but the fact is, too large a percentage of fans in the stadium now don't want to make noise all game, and will turn negative when things aren't perfect. Compared with 3 years ago, the majority of the fans had been going at least semi regularly during all the shit years and the resurgence, and made shit loads of noise.

I actually dread to see what it would be like in the prem when we have full plastics coming to games

So many new faces around and lots seem to be a throwback to W*sps!!! Lots of rugger bugger tyes who think they can still drink in their seats and don't join in songs, it's mostly these plastics who fuck off about 38 mins and come back at 52, probably the ones who left on 80 and 2-0 down also.
I know we expect increased numbers, but it would be nice to have involvement from start to finish from fans, I actually left on 87 mins cos my 8 year old Grandsons were cold and very disappointed, so I'm not immune to the calling out by Doug, but as a family we've had S/T's for 20 years and I can leave when I wish.
