I mean if we get promoted and I don't hear another song all season I'll take it

You mean they actually sung a song. You must have been closure to them than me. Worst away following I have seen for a long time. It’s actually easier to generate noise as the away team as you are all herded together and have the out numbered backs to the wall spirit. They were garbage.

Just too quiet for a team that’s top of the league, but TBH so long as we get over the line, not really bothered

If we go up and the siege mentality doesn’t return, when we totally need it to, then I suppose I’ll be ultimately disappointed. About time the No-Noise-North Stand made a noise.

There would be some good atmospheres but it ultimately won't change unless more people move over from the corner next to the away fans.

Worst atmosphere of the season imo

Could hear a pin drop at times

Said it many times before. When it's loud, the ground has the arguably best acoustics (both for home and away fans) but when it gets quiet, it's eerie. Quieter than most.

It’ll be rocking against Ipswich.

It’s all about game states.

Remember going to that one. Train from Cov station at 5.30 in the morning for a 3pm kick off. Think we won 2 nil with McNulty scoring and got back home to Cov on the last train from Birmingham. Remember seeing the snow on the ground on the Lake District on way up. That was a long day think around December 2017

Was sat by McNulty's mates. They had a big do up there following him. Proper beer heads.

I think there is a feeling that the journey is at an end. All those awful things that happened to us, have now almost all been corrected. It almost feels like its over. This club come so close to not existing. We were just one or two more setbacks away from going out of existence.

Next season a new chapter will start, and it will be really tough. You'll then see atmosphere

Didn't the Swansea fans get free travel today? Which I guess given there numbers was a lift up on the team coach.

Yes but we didn’t play like a team top of the league with home advantage. We were a bit stop start today. Sometimes the team has to lift the fans, generating atmosphere is a two way street, it’s not all down to happy clappy fans.

I guarantee there will be more home games like this. Possibly even more tense and with a worse atmospher.

I sit main stand - due to a few reasons- and thought there was plenty coming on a continuous basis from Singers Corner albeit a bit forced , but just lacking volume in a 30k stadium. However my side had a new set of tourists today whom I was teaching songs too which actually was quite funny- and a sign of the future (possibly) but the North stand is dead across swathes of blocks and that’s the cause of no volume - no matter how hard singers corner tries. Even the Wolf tried to get them going late on with a big hand/arm wave- Think they read it as a sign to go to Tesco!

It was much better in the 2nd half today. We did comment part way through the first half how tense it seemed. It’s uncharted territory for us. I’m not sure people know how to react to it. I know I feel I am in some sort of a daydream like state!

This.

Big issue.

It also looks fucking wank when we score a goal before half time and half the North Stand is empty.

It's always that stand.

Wind your neck in with this holier than you shite.

Easy to target when that's the only stand your looking at. All stands start to thin out with 5 mins to go to half time.

We have a set of probably 15-17k fans who are the core.
hopefully that increases with the current performances and the increased number in young kids.

For home games now we are an entitled fan base. We want something to get us going, as opposed to getting the team going. That siege mentality when we first came back to the cbs and that season being the underdog has gone. The majority additions since the play off season have been fans who left during the days of sisu and fell out of love of football. I also know a lot of fans who are here to join the wave/good times ahead of potentially getting into the prem. there are many who’s first team isn’t cov who just come for the game. All this added will dampen the atmosphere.
It may also be the case due to weather, time of year etc. I do hope the bigger games against Ipswich and leicester the place will be rocking.
But yeah, there is a sense of entitlement. On my walk home today, a fellow “fan” asked me, “which team did you support 3 years ago”. Fat bastard got it back to him when I told him I had a season ticket in league 2 also.
Just my opinion and rant over.

Sat in the hospitality section rather than normal season ticket seats today and thought the atmosphere was decent enough for a pretty drab game with freezing cold weather. Still a top home atmosphere in the league when you look at others.

Expect it to be bouncing vs Ipswich.

I am assuming that those leaving early are getting cars out of carpark C as when people ring in an hour later they are still queuing to get out - so the road closures don’t help with getting people away

You seem to like putting the North stand down a fair bit like it's the source of the bad atmosphere. You've brought it up a few times, implying those who sit there aren't contributing. It comes across as you talking down on those in that stand.

I do criticise it. There's a lot of no shows in there every week and it's disappointing when they could be resold today.

There's no real point mentioning it when discussing the atmosphere let's be honest.

This is total bollocks. It honestly is. I park in Car Park C. I sit in my seat at the top of the stand until the players have done the lap around the pitch then walk back to the car. Im out the car park in 10 minutes max.

People going for a pint at 35 minutes or leaving early fucks me right off.
Sit the fuck down and watch the game you paid good money to see.
The pints will still be there and the queuing is never that bad.

We’re top of the league and struggled at times against a side down the bottom, and the game was never comfortable. There wasn’t much to sing about.

Plus our recent run has been a step down from banging in 3/4/5 goals every week like we were, people are getting nervy, it’s understandable.

Thought it was pretty shit much of the time today with some very bright spots. I've seen a few people say it's the lack of interaction with the away fans and honestly, after today I can see it. Having something specific to give them stick about - in this case, Grimes - really helped. The reaction to their fans booing him when he was taking a corner was amazing. I was hoping that the "you sold your star to Super Frank Lampard" chant that was sung at the Liberty the match after we signed him would resurface, but oh well

Who said anything about super fans?
Is everyone a fan though?
there are plenty of season ticket holders this year who were Liverpool or spurs fans the last year.
