Some keep on about SISU asset stripping. Yes, some players have been sold since SISU took over. A lot of players were on wages too high for our club and position and considering their ability. Some of the players were so poor for their wages that no other teams were interested in them. It seems to be improving now. No more silly contracts handed out. We have lost a few players since last season due to being out of contract and players refusing to sign again. These are as follows..

Gunnar..Cardiff
Westwood..Sunderland
King..Brum

We were down a good striker at the start of the season when King left us to join Brum after agreeing to stay with us. Offered more money and better contract. Westwood left us to sit on the bench at a prem side...that is even if he gets to sit on the bench. Has he gone for prospects of playing in the prem or just to take the money? Gunnar..we should have got him on a contract earlier, although a fair few agree he had one good season then two average/poor seasons. We still got/getting a small fee.

Sold

Turner..Cardiff

Some real asset stripping gone on there  He had not played for nearly a year and we have plenty of cover in his position, so not a massive loss, although it would have been better to have kept him.

Released..

O'Halloran..Carlisle
Osbourne..Aberdeen
McIndoe..No club
Quirke..No club

8 players gone, only one sold. Three players signed so far. Hopefully loans to come in as well. We were badly let down and left without striker cover with the way we thought we had King for the season until just before it has started. Hopefully Cody will take his place and play a lot more games than King did through injuries and suspensions. We have removed players from the wage bill so should give funds for decent loans. If this happens then I will see us as having an improved squad from last season with the young players we have coming through, especially Christie and Bigi.

I suppose I will be shot at now by the SISU out lot for having a half full glass. Just because I can see things improving it does not mean I love them. I have realised though that they are our owners and things maybe now improving after getting rid of most of the deadwood. If they were asset stripping Jukey would have gone by now. Maybe we will get a big bid for him in the Jan transfer window. We will then see what happens. Do they resist more attempts to sign him or to they take the cash? If they do take the cash then we have to see what they do with it. I would think though if our results improve and we climb up the table we will get higher gates. This means more cash coming into the club and then he will not be sold to give us the best chance of a high finish.

Put like that it dosnt seem so bad. Felt all doom and gloom in the summer but that to me puts it all in to perspective.
