Probably an unpopular view, but I thought the 2-tone kit was nothing special.... But if it had been a black/white version of last seasons striped kits it would have been fantastic.

Hi all, pardon the intrusion. I'm a football shirt collector with a preference for novel and interesting kits, and every other week I pen a needlessly long article/review about a shirt I've managed to add to the collection. If the title wasn't a dead giveaway already, I'm sure you can guess it now; I've bought Coventry's current home strip, pleased as I am that the sky blue is now finally being given the attention it deserves by a proper brand, rather than by the disinterested Nike (and Puma before them).

If you fancy a read or want a closer look at the shirt before buying one yourself, do please have a look!;

Club 25 Football

I've blown through 4000 words giving my own perspective, but I'm really curious to learn what actual fans of the club think about this shirt. Happy with the return of the old 90's pattern or is it a bit too much? Displeased with a betting sponsor or apathetic when you're already playing in the SkyBet Football League? And is hummel a step up from Nike, or was I alone in my frustration that they kept dishing out standard off-the-peg shirts that you'd also see on Sunday League teams?

And do let me know if I've made any mistakes in the article; I'm only a neutral football fan, so I don't know Coventry City through and through.

Took a while to grow on me but I like it, just not as much as last season's. The main design isn't bad but I really like the small details i.e. elephant on the neck, PUSB inside the collar etc. Either way it is infinitely better than the absolute drivel Puma and Nike served up off the shelf for us and I would much rather be nitpicking a completely unique shirt

Would rather not have a betting company but we play in a bet-branded league and from a completely selfish point of view, it sounds like the most lucrative deal we were offered at a time the club needed money so I'll accept it

Last season's home kit was brilliant. Quite a step down from that one, but it has grown on me. Don't like the away or 3rd kit this year.
Would like to see a return of the Brown shirt for our away kit next year.

Happy with this season's shirt. Not impressed with the sponsorship but it was agreed during Covid and any port in a storm, I guess.

@Club25 Pity you're not looking at our shirts for next season. The concept art for them are a look back at classic Coventry from the 70's, 80's and 90's. Tramlines, Jimmy Hill's attempt to circumvent onshirt advertising and some of the most disputed shirts in Coventry's history.

Those aren't done by Hummel, that's a fans effort. I hope hummel come up with something new, 3 retro reboots would be overkill

This seasons made me like last season a bit less, even if prefer more still if that makes sense. Just a better sky blue this time round.

Not taking the piss, that is just how I feel.

Last season's sky blue now looks a bit washed out with the benefit of this season's. Although I still prefer last season's shirt overall.

Love Hummel, but this season's home is the worst of our 4 kits.

4 !!! -that pisses me off too! - we're not Man Utd in Europe (who I blame for all this nonsense btw) but it's at least one and probably two too many for a struggling Championship side. When I bought the membership I assumed that would be this season's now expected 3rd kit, yet we found another reason as City of Culture to still add one. I'm certain there will be another excuse next season too and this will become teh new norm.

Home kit looks unfinished stopping half way around. The original Micky Quinn version was vastly superior and if retro/throwback was to be the theme, then they should have simply copied it imo.

I hated the Ribero kit, I always thought it looked like crumpled tin foil, but this one has grown on me

I don't understand when people get annoyd by this. If you don't want to purchase all the kits, you're not obliged to.....it doesn't make people any less of a fan.

The club are trying to generate as much income as possible so I don't see the issue.

Twin Boys. Got one each this season. Not buying 4 of each!
Fair enough, but I'm sure then as a parent, you can at least understand it from a parent's perspective. So many other ways a club could increase revenue and for the most part they're not interested.
