Are we similar the Liverpool? (4 Viewers)

Well that's a heady headline but think about it...for a moment at least.

Playing terrible last year and Thorn comes in late on and changes things and gets results, promising a style of play to entertain. A diamond formation.

Liverpool really poor and Dalglish rides in late to the rescue and they improve late on using a diamond formation.

Now both managers and clubs are producing much better under the these guys this season with plenty of changes in the team and a style of play more suited to entertainment.

Liverpool are still a work in progress but the improvement was marred by a very poor result at the week end.
Coventry has just mirrored that with the result at Ipswich. Like Coventry last week end saw Liverpool's fine displays so far look meek and that is exactly mirrored by the City.

I know it's all a bit silly but the point is no one is calling for Dalglish's head just yet or getting all worried.

Neither should we!

Main difference is Dalglish is a Liverpool legend (and that's understating it). So no, I would say we're nothing like Liverpool. We're probably more like Everton, play in blue and have huge debts!

No one really has if anything the debate has cemented our oppinion on him and the mammoth job he's doing

I don't think many are worried about Thorn so much as worried in general. Our squad has a very similar look to the Southampton one that was relegated a few years ago-plenty of youthful promise, playing attractive football, but precious little experience, know-how or physical presence.

Not much AT can do about that unless the board back him (which they haven't, and won't). Whereas Liverpool have a top-5 squad for their division. No comparison, in either present predicament or future aspirations. Liverpool aren't near to a relegation dogfight; we probably are.

........and they fill their ground pretty much most games!

I like the correlation between tactics and results but that's probably where the comparison ends for the reasons Nonleagueherewecome so succinctly put.

I agree we are much closer toEverton, and for the first time I can remember we spent more on players than them this season.

How much are they in debt is the main question

Guys it was deliberately a little tongue in cheek and I was only referring to the football similarities, especially the last couple of games played by each team.
Both had good ends to a bad season. Both had an atrocious game the other day but prior to that both looked good. Just saying one 3-0 defeat is not reason enough for the vitriol on here just as it wouldn't be for Liverpool fans to do the same.

Very much the same, we've won one game in 8, Liverpool have won 4 in 8 this season.

We won 3 of our last 10 games of last season, Liverpool won 6 of their last 10 games of last season.

We're virtually identical twins.

Liverpool are pretty average under Dalglish. He has spent over 100mil and transformed them into... well that's the point, they are no better than last year really.
