What's the historical evidence then? The same sources got which players correct before? Be nice to know.

Historical evidence is based on what X person has told me, so nothing that has ever been posted online or said in the public domain, however given that the rumour of this player joining is already online I thought I’d engage on this thread as to what I’ve heard

David Cotterill?

No idea about Man Utd link, but he's 30, local and not playing. Also capped for Wales

Well done Nick, the players full birth name is David Rhys George Best Cotterill, hence the Man Utd link.

The player has only been used sporadically by Birmingham this season and is allegedly one player MR is close to agreeing a deal for.

I'd be shocked if we can get a player who is on Birmingham's bench.

God, it's depressing to say that.

If true then may I be the first to congratulate Joy for being the best owner in anything ever.

Okay, so you were told this name and then saw the same name bandied about on social media. Right, got it.

Weren't Birmingham linked with Willis? That would make sense with him having plans for outgoings lined up if so.

Cotterill was on the bench for them last game as well.

On my way to get his name on my shirt.

Told his name from someone who is pretty accurate with this information, although seeing it on social media has made me feel like it’s all the more possible, time will tell, if I’m wrong then I’ll gladly apologise

I was thinking more Brian Kidd and that we'd be getting Jodie.

You'd have to be happy with that wouldn't you, Willis for Cotterill?

If this is true I'm very pleased if we land him. Has the ability to create and more importantly something we've dearly missed can take a free kick!!

Let's hope he's fit and the legs ain't gone too much

Would be worried if his legs had started to go, he turned 30 last week!

You'd think he would easily get in a league 1 side. A bit of a coup if we pull this off.

We would want money on top surely. Just the ages and potential would make a straight swap deal ludicrous.

Yes still young but with a little bit of caution you have to wonder why he's dropping from the championship to L2?

Would be a good signing, I'll get excited when confirmed and see him start a game!

A 5th of his career goals have been direct from a free kick!

Not been this excited since Chris Maguire!

Can put a penalty away too, should we get one in the league

If its a fringe players from a higher division could be loans rather than permanent.

We wouldn't need to be shifting out players in order to get loans though would we?

And it will stay 'raw talent' until we give him a run of games. He isn't going to progress on the bench or in the U23's.

But we can only sell players other teams want. Who else is there who would command a fee? McDonald? Kelly? Would you want to sell either of them?

Don’t care who it is so long as it gets us away from playing 7 defenders in home matches.

Seems the most sensible one to sell with a player within the club ready to slot in.

MR has said he needs to balance things with goings out needed to allow any in, and we need some in

Exactly. Seemingly he has attracted interest, we have cover. Seems to me the most logical and least damaging.

Much rather Willis than McDonald and much rather wish Willis than Kelly. We are thin in midfield, pretty rich in the back line.

There's a few players I wouldn't mind getting rid of, but who's going to be interested in buying them?
