Doesn't really work that way now they've split the transfer windows, PL and Championship window closes next Thursday/Friday and L1&2 closes start of Sept.
In Theory this is to stop the bigger clubs taking a player on deadline day and then leaving little time for the selling club to replace them. This way the selling club has a month to replace them.
