Don't get carried away.

Even if a takeover occurs, the new owners will have to continue cost cutting

And

The chances are that new owners will not be allowed to give the manager any money to spend

We have Hoffman the fan v Hoffman the business man. Whatever division we are in the squad needs a total re-build. I suggest div.1 is the better option. Don't get me wrong i want to survive this relegation scrap from a fans point of view as much as anybody, but on a long term view, would div 1 assuming there was a bit of dosh about be a better bet ?

Ive heard that we are being taken over in the summer by a consortium from London. Fronted by former player Ray Ranson! Apparently they have money to invest in young talented players and plan to build a decent squad and have us promoted in a couple of years. Our worries are over people. Sisu Capital have saved our glorious club and plan on taking us to the premier league and finally make Coventry City a club we can be proud of!!! Im really excited Thankyou SISU.

We won't have any money to spend. Far from it.

We will need to continue cost-cutting

And what happens if nobody takes us over?
This is a serious question. What are the options? Are there any other than the extinguishing of the Club?

Better if we all took a lesson from Geoffrey Robinson and just get totally pissed.

It is a serious issue. Too many fans think that administration automatically ends with a takeover and renewed investment.

The truth is that we are an unattractive option for a buyer.

We have to hope that Hoffman is credible

But the administrator has the right (and duty) to ignore a potential buyer, if he deems the business unsalvageable. And can therefore liquidate the club

TA that is the nightmare that I fear. There are no assets, other than the player contracts. Who would pay an administrator? I agree that we have to hope that Hoffman's investors really exist and have the stomach to take on the Club and get through the summer with no revenue, just cost. My very real fear is that for all his efforts, and we have no reason to believe that he hasn't made efforts, the Club is in such a state that you would have to be paid to take it on.
If the Club is to disappear as a League Club I wish it would before the end of the season. The thought of going down the plughole of history at Soton is just horrible.
