Any news on the rent (1 Viewer)

Sadly MMM with nobody willing to take the club on from SISU I'm not sure what else can be done for its benefit. Sugar daddies of Cardiff proportions are needed.

Whilst your scenario has plausibility Godiva the problem is timescale - even spinmeister Fisher has talked about a 3 year break even timescale and does that sound like the sort of timescale a hedge fund would work under? And they would have to keep making up the losses for the next two years - I think Joy has had enough of putting money into CCFC and its the stadium complex at any cost as an exit strategy. As OSB said one of the key elements is the control of the Yorkshire Bank loan - whoever is in control of that in effect can control the whole shooting match. I think the new year is going to get very dirty and nasty.

Joy ... or sisu ... have not put in any money. She/they manage funds who have put in money. That is important.
If sisu get hold of shares in ccfc for nothing, then I think they have all the time in the world. Fischer and Waggot are employed to do their footwork - it's not a huge time (or ressource) stealer for sisu.

Fischer has said so much that I have lost track. Three year break-even, 3mio loss budget .... and this is being quoted all the time.
But how accurate are these figures ... and how accurate are these quotes? The 3mio loss is actually unimportant - it's the cash-flow that is relevant. Is that -3mio? I don't think so. Does the budget include a rent figure of 200k or 1.2mio? Problem is - we don't really know, but we use the quotes in a form that supports our own oppinion. Just like Fischer does.

Perhaps SISU were hoping the world was going to end today therefore paying the rent never made sense. Lets hope they have a plan B!! :p

will we be kicked out of ricoh if rent isnt paid by 26th though?

I doubt it CC4L

Got to say if I had owned the stadium I would have locked the club out at end of July, I would have been taking action as from June once April & May not paid. As landlord (not as a fan) yes I would have taken it all the way. Point of maximum leverage as landlord. That might have focussed a few minds. Any normal landlord would have acted sooner. That is not a criticism of ACL etc because I understand why they didnt and the approach they took .......... sadly SISU used that against them.

That is not me saying I wanted the club broken either, thats me saying I believe football clubs are not a special case when it comes to business. If it were just about the rent there was always a deal that could be done without racking up debt and putting both entities at risk. Just isnt about the rent

Plus it is easy to talk in hind sight and it isnt me making the decision. :)

Well, I'll be placing a bijou wager on 'black' on the roulette wheel in the casino tomorrow - a 'one spin' wager is a part of my lucky match-day preparation. Should I prove successful, I may make my way to the director's box and test Fisher's mettle whilst holdin' foldin'....

Not an incorrect assertion, but pushed up to a lower value than if the prime tenant wasn't so machiavellian. So, the value will be either nominal, or depressed. Neither a bad output for Joy and her team

My point is - it wouldn't satisfy the £40mio+ loans.
It is also an uncontrolled plan ... there are too many uncertain factors.

And it wouldn't really give 'Joy and her team' anything. The funds would maybe regain a few milions, but not really enough.

I'd have thought blackjack was more your thing?

Godiva - there is conjecture that Joy has put in substantial amount of her personal money - her personal worth between £30 and £40m but I am sure even she is reluctant to be writing a cheque for £200,000+ every month. According to Fisher he used the £200k rent figure in his budget plans.

I have believed all along that the rent dispute was just a smoke screen. This thread, however, has shown me just how complicated the whole affair is, with more twists, turns and red herrings than a novel by LeCarre - and it's giving me a headache just trying to understand a little of what's going on. Think I'll stick to planting turnips.

Its interesting there has been a lot of silence on both sides lately !!!!
I would think the counsel would help support ACL if it comes down to a long battle.

Problem is SISU's lawyers and financial experts are used to these types of battles the council employs local experts with little experience of taking on such organisations and the variousdirty tricks stunts and scenarios.
