Seems relevant. Stop scaring yourself on the internet kids. I blame Crimewatch no longer telling us not to have nightmares.
Local Facebook groups coupled with everyone having cctv or a ring doorbell. I was happily ignorant that anyone was trying my car door at night or whatever else they're up to. Now you're getting daily updates.

I also get a weekly email off the police with details of crimes committed in the local area, if I didn't get that I wouldn't know most of them had happened.

Similarly twitter and other social media love to highlight things happening across the country you never would have heard about, coupled with a decent number of people who like to push a narrative that we're under attack.

This is just bollocks, I’ve been out past this time with my youngest loads of times as we like to catch a show when we’re in London. Always felt perfectly safe, for a start it’s well lit and crowded in the West End until late at night.

I've usually been ok, but I generally look a bit chavvy so most probably assume my jewellery is snide 🤣

Is that why you don't see pearly kings in London anymore?

What is it with these out of towners getting freaked out about hanging around in the busiest, most normie-filled parts of London?

FFS :(

Horrible. Always worried about kids going out, but you think when you've got them to 18 you've done your job and they'll be ok. Unimaginable, must be heartbreaking for the family. In fact I see a 19 year old arrested too, so despite him being a prick, his family will no doubt also be devastated. Just feels so needless too, why can't kids just have a scrap any longer, as soon as you carry you're asking for trouble :(

It's just cowardly cunts, like you say they could have a scrap and be done with it.

Now they just whip out knives and stab like it's nothing, multiple lives ruined.

I don't know how you solve this problem, its so sad and worrying. We've reached a point where far too many kids are wandering around with knives even if only on the basis of "everyone else has one, I need one for protection".

We don't have anywhere near the resources to stop and search a significant number of people even if you could do it without escalating tensions in the local community. We don't have the capacity to lock people up if they are found with knives and the ones we do lock up seem to come out worse than when they went in.

The fact there are tensions about people being searched is the scary bit when knife crime is so rife. There should be instant punishment for anybody carrying a knife but like you say, the prisons would be overflowing.

At some point society and people need to take responsibility, the parents who give it the "he was an angel" stuff. Don't know about anybody else but if I was roaming the streets with a zombie knife I'd have been more scared of my mum than the police.

Not just around stop and search. Watch any police 'fly on the wall' type show and from something as little as a traffic stop people are out their houses and kicking off at the police.

When I was a kid people would be concerned if the police were questioning you about something, especially if they were taking you home and speaking to your parents. Not that I had to deal with that fortunately. But now the parents defend them no matter what are start having a go at the police.

When the 2 Andy's got stabbed in the City centre and murdered in Cov on one horrible Thursday night in 1996 I can remember thinking the country has gone to shit when 2 teenage lads can't go out and not come home safely. And yet its managed to plunge even further depths in the 23 years since then.

So foleshill road closed off as well just after but they are saying it's unrelated?

Fucking madness. The police need to be clamping down massively, I know it would be like a needle in a hat stack but it's pretty obvious the area needs it.

It sounds like the other injured person has been arrested for murder.
