I don't want to glorify violence. My life was years of fighting and violence, 4 prison sentences for violence. In and out of prison, do you want to have a fight ? I would take you on. I got beat up ended in hospital, come out and do it again. What gets me is people getting aggressive online and on social media, but do they know what violence means ?

fucking hell B, I knew you'd served time but I didn't realise you had 4 sentences.
Your customers windows must have been fucking filthy by the time you got out.

I had a drink recently with a hard lad in Coventry and we both done time in Stafford prison together. He is now a reformed character as we both are. He would fight anybody but now he walks away. Fuck all about age but common sense.

40?! fucking hell mate, that's brutal. Had a few fights myself but nothing that serious, handbags really.
A few of my mates have served time for violence but mostly when they were younger. It took you a long time to learn your lesson mate but at least you're on the straight and narrow now and enjoying life, good for you mate.
Lets hope you've got a promotion to celebrate at the end of the season.

Last sentence I did 2 years. A screw who knew me in Ranby Nick in Nottingham said see you again. I said you will never see me again. I was that bad a prisoner in there he thought I was a regular. But I am a ex con who shows you can change.

I just want to say people can change. 3 years ago I went to a psychology session at Walsgrave Hospital, and I was the main person they talked about. I sat there with all these educated people talking about me. I sat there sweaty and nervous, and they all said after an hour I was a miracle and someone who will get better etc.

Ah Star City the Westfield Centre of Birmingham. How long can we keep throwing old fashioned coppers into these situations like lambs to the slaughter? Walk around with a machete you should expect the risk of a bullet in the head. Times have changed

Are you suggesting cutting the police by 20000 isn't a factor in the rise in crime?

If that's the case why bother with the current recruitment drive?

Cutting police,
Cutting youth provision
Cutting youth offending service provision in particular the preventative work
Cutting court time
Wrecking the probation service
Cutting education budgets - decrease in pastoral care and lack of specialised / alternative education for those that need it.
Lack of access to mental health services - huge waiting lists for diagnosis of things like Autism, ADHD, etc.
Increasing child poverty
Cutting of early intervention services
Universal credit
Pushing to make both parents work - latch door kids.
Brexit and the general attitude towards minorities since then.

I could go on and on, but it all has a huge impact on society and young people living in poverty feeling marginalised and getting into trouble.

Yes that's all well and good saying all that but at what point should people start taking responsibility for their own actions? Going to a cinema mob handed with machetes? You think this is all down to cuts in services? Really? More like a total lack of respect for anyone and anything. These arsewipes would still do the same regardless of police cuts or not.
Feral dragged up scum that need eliminating from society.
The problem we also have these days is to many do gooders making excuses for them. Carrying a knife should be a minimum of 10 years in prison imo.
And don't these cuts affect everybody? Funnily enough when I finish work at 2 today I've no plans to put a tracksuit and hoody on and go tooled up with a machete up town.

Of course I do. I'd actually argue the point that the immigrants aren't actually responsible for the large percentage of crime that they're blamed for.
A lot of this is a home grown problem. Young out of control gangster wannabes with no respect for anyone and anything. Imo a lot of this could be nipped in the bud from the home.

I think the length of the sentence should also be governed by the size of the knife you carry. Any carrying of a knife in such circumstances, a sentence, but a machete, a much, much longer sentence imposed.

100% agree

And i dibt care if i sound like an old fuddy duddy, this country losing its family values and morals

Look at love island. Its softcore porn. Never ever would have been in telly in 80s and 90s. Kids are growing up to be gangsters or sluts as their aspirations

I was a twat when I was younger. Would never start anything but would go flying in if anyone I was with or knew got attacked. Got away with it the few times I got my collar felt because it was down to self defence. Then the last time I didn't. The judge said I was going to get a custodial sentence. The only thing to decide was for how long. My family didn't even know I was in court. You will know that feeling when the blood drains out of you in a second. But the truth came out. I kept my freedom.

Just after that my little brother got attacked by 3 blokes. He held his corner until his mates joined in. It ended up being a riot. He got 30 months for inciting a riot. And ut was him that got attacked. Two reality checks in about 2 months.

Yes you get wiser as you get older. Only had one fight since. That is in about the last 15 years. I got chinned from the side. Didn't see a thing. Then luckily he dived on top of me giving me a chance to realise what was happening. I had just managed to get him in a hold as the police came in the pub.

The good thing is word got round. He got the sack from working the doors there for attacking other people. I was new in the area but had instant respect. Not even had an argument since.......other than when this young lad tried pushing me over. I hardly moved but he went backwards. And he got kicked out

Fighting is for idiots. I still train. But I have to. My youngest lad is 10 today. I need to be able to sort him out if he needs it when he is older when I am in my 60's. He is going to be a big lad. He is already taller than his Nanna. And my shortest lad so far is 6'2"

My son does charity boxing and he's got a fight in December. Best thing he's ever done as it channels his aggression, and he trains hard in the gym too. I found when I started playing rugby it kept me out of trouble, sport definitely helps I reckon. Plus seeing a psychologist regularly too !
