Another smashing day in court (1 Viewer)

Sisu really do smash everyone they come up against don't they?

Glad I only have an emotional attachment to one of their companies rather than a financial one

Actually no I'm not, when will they go? I want our club back

They have got nowhere after 3 court cases against various parties, i wonder if there expensive experts will tell them to pull the plug on the JR and get around the table.

More legal fees in June getting nowhere and the prospect of more losses at Sixfields, surely a rental agreement back at The Ricoh will at least give them a starting point to sell the club at a loss. Take a leaf out of Randy Learners book, took them as far as he can, flirting with relegation and willing to sell at a loss, but also knowing if relegated them losses would be catastrophic!!

So what do we have so far.

Taken to court twice (not sure if it was the same case twice or 2 separate cases) by ACL over non payment of rent, lost both times - I seem to recall they didn't even enter a defence.

Initial application for JR rejected.

Initial application for access to documents rejected.

Appeal for JR won!

SISU action against Higgs thrown out.

Higgs action against SISU failed.

Second attempt to gain access to documents rejected.

Think we can see from that they aren't as good in court as some people suspect. By battering people in court do they mean dragging things on for so long the other side runs out of money and / or patience and they get their own way.

Wow and amongst all this shit apparently sometimes we have a football team. I have forgotten what just being interested in a football result rather than a court one, is like.

Football is currently out of season for CCFC or did you still think we had games to play ?

Dont be an arse John. Of course I know it is out of season. I was speaking in general, when was the last time we ever just focused on the football, and just enjoyed/moaned about that.

I do remember when that was the case, do you or have you only been a fan the last couple of years?

Exactly that.

There's a big difference between the grinding down of individuals and private companies with the threats and pressure of expensive legal action, and to trying to do it against public bodies like the council. Fundamentally they've taken on someone with deep enough pockets to see it through to the bitter end, and who also has a basic duty to explain their decisions in court if challenged.

Once things get to court, there's no evidence SISU are much better than anyone else at getting decisions go their way. I don't think this means that the Council will necessarily win either by the way, the simple truth is that it's very hard to guess which way things will go in any court case.

My gut feel is still that the JR will fail, and that's somewhat reinforced by the actions of the judge yesterday and the fact that SISU still seem to be fishing around for something to support their case. That's just my opinion though, many will differ. :)

Of course I agree with you on this.
I'm angry because of what Sisu have done to our club !

There's been plenty of chat about the football before, during, and even after the season. However this particular thread is talking about the court stuff.

Some of us see that as more important than any single game or player, perhaps. If you don't, fair enough. Feel free to ignore the thread, I'd say.

I don't jump on the football threads saying 'but enough about Conor Thomas, let's talk about those August 2012 ACL minutes'. ;)

I dont disagree with what you said Duffer, I was just speaking generically and out of all the Court threads I just chose this one.

I know the future of the club is at threat and such issues are very important, I have contributed to many threads on these matters, its just once in a while I just wish it was the football we concentrated on and not all the off field stuff instead, you know happier days when the club owned its own ground, had fairly decent owners, and were not owned by the Devils Gonads themselves Sisu.
