Is your LOL

"It's eight quid, not a great deal",

or is it

"Eight quid, that's taking the piss, It's the U23s".

For the record, I've never payed a penny to watch our U23s, either at the Higgs or the CBS.

£8 seems a bit much to me. Hopefully Alvechurch make a few bob and it helps them out, but it seems surprisingly high to me.

Strictly speaking it is not an U23's game is it? Or are Alvechurch sending out their U23's?

How did Hilsner and Jobello play or don't I need to ask?

I think the silence from the club about this match/result speaks volumes

A West Brom XI lost to Leamington 3-1 last night. Villa, Walsall, Wolves and Brum are all out too. Shows what the pro teams make of the tournament.

Why do we have to enter this competition? Are there equivalents elsewhere that other league teams have to play in?

Results show the difference between a team and a collection of individuals

Nice one. Do you know how close Billson is to a return to fitness for Scunthorpe?

Don’t think he is far away , he’s at the club at the moment , Scunthorpe have recently changed managers so think it will depend on who goes in

Alvechurch are level 8. Regardless of if we wanted to be in the competition we sent a team of 11 professionals, some of whom are supposedly in the shop window. Some form part of our strength in depth and only an injury or two away in the first team squad from being involved.

I know some are mocking and saying they don't care, but any team we put out should have been capable of beating them and I understand it was no fluke and they deserved their win. Surely on some level that has to be a concern?

A few are in the bomb squad, some are only just first year pro's, but others if they're good enough for where we're at now should be streets ahead of that and standing out.

It's almost always won by a non-league side as none of the professional teams take it seriously.
Leamington are current holders winning 2 out of the last 3, they're only one step up from Alvechurch. The year in-between the winners were Stourbridge, same league as Alvechurch.

The only professional team left in now are Burton who scraped past level 9 Halesowen on penalties. None of the professional teams take it seriously, I think they'd probably prefer to be knocked out in all honesty hence us not even playing the likes of Tavares, Rus etc.
Those that you might consider to be on the fringes (I assume Pask & Drysdale?) have literally just returned from long term injuries.

It's really nothing to be annoyed or concerned about.

Yep get what you're saying and appreciate its not just us, but don't know what side others put out. Ours weren't kids and I still think should have enough about them to put away teams 6 steps lower if they have any aspirations at that level.
