How about instead of everyone staying away everyone attends the games and we get 16000 every week or so.
Would that not show our potential fan base off to possible new owners?

Stop talking sense. You won't get anywhere with it.

Sounds like a decent plan to me. Personally since the return I've made it a mission to attend as many games as possible partly for this very reason.

Potential new owners only have to look at attendance figures since the first game at the Ricoh against QPR (3-1 win) mid to late 20k's...Then look since SISU took charge. Quite a dramatic fall off in attendances. I'll ask one question. After over 7 years of diabolical mismanagement and lack of decent backing on the pitch, what New potential owners couldn't see the reason for poor attendances, and know exactly what to do to put it right?

Plus of course pressure could then be applied to SISU to increase the player budget. We're not really in a position to moan about the budget at the moment when this board is full of people saying they aren't going anymore and won't renew their season tickets.

In the theory it's a good idea, trouble is, if the performances on the pitch are piss poor and we're losing every week why would fans, especially the stay away fans want to spend money going and watching it. If we start playing well the begging of next season the crowds will come back, The JPT game proved that

@ chiefdave.....SISU took charge when attendance figures were well over the 20k mark, and they did practically f**k all then?...What makes you think they'll do anything if crowd figures were back up there again? It's not the fans fault we're playing in this s**t league, it's the owners being total sh**e at managing the football club...FFS "Text a Sub"...."Orange Ken in the dugout"...Owners that know Jack s**t about football...a CEO bringing in players that SP knew nothing about(How could he with no scouts) and even bringing in a player when we didn't even HAVE A MANAGER(SP sacked beforehand)

Didn't one of the first midweek games actually get only 17,000?

The first full season of sisu, with investment, new hope, new players, new manager we averaged 17k. We only averaged just over 20k in our first season at the Ricoh, attendances were dropping year on year anyway (yes this has been accelerated by subsequent lack of investment in 11/12 and relegation).

Jan 13 vs Shrewsbury 15,185 so just over 2 years, given that we spent 1 playing in Northampton.

If I was a potential new owner I would be more concerned with how far some will go to defend a London rugby team who have landed in Coventry. My first action would be to banish the Sky Blue Trust and their leaders as far away from the club as possible; still, they'd be able to go up to watch 'the Wasps' at the Ricoh with their free tickets. Not sure how much their egos would get massaged though.

Here I was thinking you go on a match day to support your team win, lose or draw. The 'entertainment factor' shouldn't even be an afterthought.

Actually if you look back it proves the point.

Season before SISU: 20,370
Season when SISU arrived (in December): 19,123, signed Coleman as manager, Dann (undisclosed, reported to be over £1m), Fox (£400K) and Westwood (£500K)
SISU's first full season: 17,407, signed Eastwood (£1.2m), Bell (£500K), Gunnar (undisclosed), Wright, Morrison and McPake. Only notable player leaving was Tabb who, it was claimed, wanted to be closer to home.

So SISU came in, spent money and attendances dropped 3K.

It wasn't until SISU's second full season the standard of signings dropped and the outgoings were more notable than the players coming in. Ranson said over and over again we were below the level of attendance needed to break even. You could easily make an argument that if more people had turned up in the first season and a half SISU were here Ranson's plan wouldn't have been abandoned with the need to sell Dann and Fox to cover a shortfall in revenue.

Wasn't the attendance to break-even somewhere around 24,000?

Still, as long as the council sucked as much money from the club at the time we can't complain, as we should more interested in the financial health of the local council and the economy than our football club.

@ chiefdave.....Isn't it funny how people "Manufacture transfer fees" to suit their own argument? Don't ask Grendel he'll give you his version of tranfer fees estimations and present them as facts....."Reported by media" isn't worth a w**k so certain posters on here tell me. I was led to believe both Dann and Fox joined CCFC for a combined fee of approx £250k.....Westwood for a £100k fee.....Fatboy(Eastwood) £650k....Bell £375k...Gunnar£100k...Wright Free...Morrison Free.....The last 6/7 all walked for nothing, Nada, zip, Zilch, Nowt. Insert any transfer figure you like mate, it all boils down to "Guesswork" without cold hard proven facts....The only proven facts in the players you mentioned is the ones who walked for nothing...Is that not extremely bad management at the highest level?

How would you propose making players sign contracts when they don't want to? How do you make a club pay a transfer fee they don't want to pay?

Do no other clubs release players on a free? Did ccfc not realise players on frees before sisu?

I got the transfer fees by googling and taking the most commonly quoted figure so its not a case of just picking a number as you seem to suggest. Anyone you are totally missing the point. The fact is that when SISU arrived there was a period in which they appointed a 'name' manager and spent money bringing in good players. This resulted in crowds dropping which in turn meant players had to be sold to balance the books.

In the case of Westwood, He wanted to sign a new contract, but SISU being what scum they are CBA to offer him any kind of new contract until Westwood said "I asked for a new contract over 6 months ago. I've been shoddilly treated" When Boothroyd was asked if he had offered Westwood a new contract he said, "I might bump into him on the training ground"...Disgusting attitude to take with arguably the best player at the club at that time.

I take it you've just guessed those figures. For a start we paid £400k plus VAT for fox and £750k plus VAT for fox (see actual leaked contracts - CT link below). And the BBC have Westwood as costing £500k (18 June below link), given what we paid for Foc and Dann it doesn't look a million miles away for the best keeper in the league that got in the team of the year. So I suppose the rest of your figures are bollocks too.

If I thought the extra revenue would be definitely invested straight in the team then it's a fair call but me and many others don't trust these uncaring sharks to do that. If 12000 of us all rang in and bought ST's I think SISU would just think cheers we'll just carry on as we have been, they're a bunch of idiots this lot in the Midlands. Lets see Mowbray and a competitive budget and some entertainment, the fans will flock back to support that !

They brought in more money than that from selling two players last season.

Why would I bother to invest in a club whose own fans don't really care?

I'd certainly give anyone who has been to a Wasps game a lifetime ban though.

So if a fan who's had a season ticket for 20 years went to a Wasps game for whatever reason you'd give them a lifetime ban?

So almost a THIRD of the SISU tenure, and what does that say to you?... The fans didn't want to move and showed their disdain by NOT following the messiahs Fisher, Waggot and Septic. If they move CCFC outside of Coventry Boundaries one more time, then they can kiss my arse. The team I grew up supporting for the last 50+ years will no longer exist to me. The team has to play inside Coventry to represent the City or nothing!
