Said a long time ago the trust should hammer that angle. The EC investigation will run its course no matter what else happens so what benefit is there for CCFC, Wasps or indeed the local economy for Wasps to continue to refuse us a deal at the Ricoh?

I just listened to the interview from the link above. I thought you were excellent in the way that you stuck to your message. In particular,I thought that you answered the questions about the Trust was really well done and avoided making conflict with them the issue. I didn’t think Phil Upton was too bad, I expected worse having read comments above. I was interviewed for the radio once on a school related matter and found it really hard to say what I wanted too. Once the microphone is put in front of you it is nerve wracking. I was useless! Very hard to be as focussed and clear thinking in the light of difficult questions as you were. Well done!

Not at the games. Not at our games at least. If you want to protest then do it a Wasps game that wont affect the team.

Yeah, I wasn't meaning protests at games as such, more along the lines of opening up regular lines of communication with the Trust etc. I think the past few days has been an eye opener for them and reckon both SBTs should probably look to establish a working relationship going forward so that we're all on the same page.

Enough of the squabbling on Twitter etc. There's a lot of good ideas/suggestions from this audience...how can we work with the Trust to ensure that they're more representative of the fan base than they currently think they are.

The problem is, for the trust to work they’ve got to change from a rabid SISU OUT protest group to actually working for the betterment of the club.

there’s too many egos on the board for that to happen currently

That's my point. The last 24hrs will have helped them see that their approach isn't favoured by the majority of fans they claim to represent.

Let's work with them as opposed to against them.

If that means working on a new board, new membership scheme, working with relevant forums etc, then let's do it.

To be honest I actually agree as long as they reform. They need a new membership platform where we pay annually.

More modern voting and meeting procedures and hopefully we can move forward and get everybody working to the same end

Yeah maybe that’s the right agenda to go in with rather than straight into the politics? Open up meetings and voting first.

Wonder if it could be done with getting a resolution passed rather than the whole board member stuff.

Exactly what I was getting at.

They don't represent the fans like they think they do. So how can they?

Well, use the last 24hrs as scope for a fresh start. Work with SBTa to re-look at their membership scheme. I'm sure more people would be fine to pay a fiver if there was an elected board where everyone could vote online for example. They obviously need a new way of communicating with the fans they represent.

I'd pay a fiver to be a member and then look at who was looking to join the board - all their info would be in the SBTr website and then we could all vote as paying members. The board might then be more, how shall we say, more open to suggestions and maybe less one-sided in their approach.

It needs someone who has potential to meet face to face with them on the back of the last 24 hours, to start those discussions. I'm happy to do it electronically from afar but there needs to be willingness from both sides.

Let’s scope what we are asking for. The main one seems to be an online voting system.

@Nick this is more your forte, what do you reckon it’d take in terms of infrastructure and setup? Would need to be secure obviously and not require too much technical maintenance so it could be run by someone.

If you’re not sure I’ll have a google for open source solutions there must be something out there.

Just a few points and these come from someone that signed up more people for the Trust than anyone else.
1. Why have the Trust not asked for additional subscriptions after the original £1.00 to join?
2. How many of the “membership” would pay even £1.00 now for continued membership?
3. How many meetings whether you agree with the formats or not of meetings have been held since the move to Birmingham?
4. Why do you think the Trust will not criticise CCC or Wasps?
Just a few questions I have more but enough to be getting on with. I have my answers which are
1 Because they would be embarrassed
with the number
2 probably not more than 100
3 Don’t think there has been 1
4 They think they can have some sort of influence I we go back to the Ricoh and SISU go.
The Trust can only be credible if they stick with the number originally claimed.
The Trust at one time did speak for me, unfortunately no longer.

Would need some form of payment gateway and subscription management service as well as continued subscriptions is a good idea. Will go a-googling

Great idea to reform and add annual membership, but the problem is the current crop wouldn't be reelected so no way they'll give it up.

Yes but they obviously dont for a reason.

Let's be the bigger people here (ignoring the obvs Weeman jokes...) and why don't we approach them and say something along the lines of 'on the back of recent press releases, we wondered if youd be up for working together to unite a fragmented fanbase so we can then work on the ultimate goal of getting our club back to the city?'. If Shmeeee comes up with something that looks like a good model for renewing membership, casting votes, managing polls etc, that's a start.

Fresh slate, clean start. An alliance if you will.

Just seems a waste if we dont capitalise on all the good work that Pete has done over the past couple of weeks (and others as well...Pete is the obvious nomination for gratitude though at the moment).

*Not that I think they’ll be interested, but we have to eliminate the myth that no one outside of the Trust wants to do anything.

Their site uses Joomla so I assume there will be plugins for that.

I think (might be wrong) they have a platform from supporter's direct they also use?

If there is any progress with the trust would it not be an idea of a board made up of a split, ie 3 people from the trust and 3 people “elected” from a vote on here?
Trouble with them is it’s probably a case of “ jobs for the boys” when it come to their board and they wouldn’t want their applecart upset.

Agreed. Not sure how many on their board but say its 5...why couldn't it be 8 or 9? It needs to be painted as an opportunity to move onto the next evolution of the SBTr.

Is it the same as a football clubs supporters club?
My answer to the second is no

Honestly, I think the best thing we can do is just ignore him. Let him say what he wants to say...free speech and all that.

Lets focus on what we can control, rather than what we cannot. I think people are starting to see the wood through the trees (or whatever that saying is) which makes his statements stand out even more. Leave him to it, don't bother engaging.

He'll get bored if no one interacts.
