I could see Sakamoto easily getting into double figures next year if he recovers fully.

I think Simms & Wright will be here for at least another year, then who knows. And anyway Doug will play hardball with any sale price.

Yeah exactly this. They aren't going unless someone pays waaaay over the odds for them.

4 year deals for a selling club usually means we'll asses the situation with 2 years left. If they carry on their current form since settling in their value will only rise

I'd love us to convince Sheaf to stay one last year. Give him the armband, a bump in his wages and tell him he can go if we don't get promoted by the end of next season.

That's how I'd want it to go but it's likely he'll get his head turned if a prem offer comes in which is fair enough

Several things can have a strong influence on how we perform next season. Injuries to key players have a big impact (see when Sheaf was out this season). Will Saka come back as the same player after a serious injury? Our two strikers need to keep fit and injury free.
Will we be cherry picked again. We lost Vik and Gus last year and it set us back even with the compensation of big money. Losing Sheaf and almost certainly O'Hare could be a problem especially if Sheaf went after the season starts.
We need a fair share of luck. Everytime West Brom come to the CBS, they score goals that would be disallowed by VAR. Need the fixtures to fall kindly and refs to be consistent (ho ho).
I don't think we have as much money to spend as some people claim on here especially as we lost £7 million in the last accounting year. We need to spend wisely.
Most of the clubs coming down have won promotion recently and have some class players. Two of the top 5 or possibly 3 will be here again next season, so it will be tougher than some people think.
With the right buys and keeping our best players, I think we are in the mix, except when we play Preston,
Swansea, and maybe West Brom, Hull and Norwich.

I’d like to think regardless of vik going we’d still be in a good position to recruit early, fa cup run and good gates etc.

We thought that after the play off final and we had to wait until Vik left

In fact we have only lost 4 matches that Sheaf hasn’t played in. Preston who we lose to no matter who we play. West Brom away and I can count how many times on one hand in 50 years of watching city that we won there. Norwich away which is also a regular ground for us to lose at. Agree Sheaf is a key player but no one is irreplaceable. Remember Hamer and Gyokeres?

Thats exactly whats happening and it seems to be accepted. Only way hes going is if Vik doesnt move and we get 12 plus

Vik moves, we can bat away all offers for Sheaf unless we get into silly money similar to Vik territory

Sheaf has 3 years remaining on his contract. If he leaves it will be for a substantial amount. I’d be very confident of the recruitment team finding a decent replacement.

The first thing is to hang on to all the first team regulars. Praying Sakamoto comes back fully from his back injury?? I think we need to move Godden, Kelly and Moore on. Maybe Tavares? I don't think we will sign Binks so need another centre back, another right back/RWB. Plus a RW.

I don't want to be back in situation where we have the season is spent gelling? We need to be a solid top 6 side if not pushing for autos.

I hope we have less turnover in the first team and start the season reasonably for a change!

Can't wait for Sakamoto to get back on the pitch!

Depends on 2 things for me

When in the window Vik moves. We need it to be early no question.

If he does, then i expect another 6 or 7 million spent on the squad with 3 or 4 of real quality and another 3 or 4 of potential and pushing for automatics tbh

If Vik doesnt move early/at all, i think we will once again be pissing about until late in the window on a smaller budget leading to us again giving teams a head start.

I know some on here dont believe me with the info I get, however a lot do and i cannot stress enough just how important it us to us that Vik goes early on so we can go bang bang bang, targets in the building

But, if it is certain that Vik will move at some point in the summer, and that we will receive funds from that move, wouldn’t it be prudent to make our acquisitions using a temporary loan knowing that funds will be available to repay it? This, of course, is dependent on how certain we could be of receiving Vik-related funds.

I expect it to be a bit tighter at the top of the league next season and nothing like the 4 running away all season this time.

I expect us to be in the top 3rd of the league all season, pushing and maybe achieving auto spots when we're on form and maybe dipping out of the playoffs when we're off form.

That obviously requires us keeping the first team we have together, Saka coming back from injury the same player and the new additions (EMC and unknowns) being better than those leaving.

I'm still not going to shit the bed if we're 16th in October but there seems to be little excuse for a slow start this time around.

Shame we are not still involved in the Bristol Street Motors cup, or whatever it's called now. We could have been on for the quadruple.

League title, FA Cup, League Cup and the tinpot one.

That well have to wait until we're in the premier league, and then we can play the under21s in the tin pot cup.
