Adkins and Warnock.....and us? (12 Viewers)

Some reports suggest Adkins being lined up for Leeds and the under fire warnock may be on his way?
I never expected we could get Adkins who I find a very good manager, former Physio with a good education who was unfairly dismissed by Southampton bordering on insanity.
But if he does go to Leeds i think we have a chance of Warnock. I know not everyones cup of tea but he gets a job done always. He even has a chance of doing so at Leeds still but when you lose your best players (Bechio) how the hell are you supposed to keep it going?

As a motivator and larger than life figure always courting some coverage he would be a good fix for us with no nonsnse and high demands on players.
Would he drop a league, particularly to a 'big' club with a big squad and every chnace of doing well still?

Just sayin'. Would have him way ahead of most been mentioned so far.

Warnock - always gets the job done.. Unless he loses his best players

Ain't the man for us then!!

Haha seriously though I alway took a dislike to the guy, but then always thought id feel diffrently if he ever came here as i felt he could do a job with a team & knew how to wind up the opposition... but i dont think id want him now, his time has been and gone I reckon

Cant imagine that we could afford Warnock to be honest. Also the teams he tends to manage are hard working in your face type teams, with a bit of an edge to their play (edjenguele is not what i mean btw)..... i just do not see that in our squad and I can not see much in the way of funds to change it.

Not against him as such, he is a proper character just do not think it would be a good fit

Colin at Coventry??? Hhmm.

As usual there is the "oh god, not him" bridge and the "he'd never come here...wages too high" brigade, but if you look past that and what he did at the likes of QPR and Sheff Utd, then he would be a solid appointee.

I dont know about Warnock - in terms of the fact of I really cant stand the guy and dont massively rate him, but I dont know if the fact I think he is a p***k clouds my judgement as to whether he is a decent manager.

Going by his record - the guy knows how to take teams to the play offs, and then take them up. did it four times in the ninties, got sheff united to a play off final they loss before taking them up automatically, and took QPR up automatically as well.

So while I am not a massive fan - dont think it would be a name to rule out. of course, this is probably a way off considering he is still currently a manager at another team. Whether we could realistically get him as well.....

Much like Dennis Wise: Hate him if he's not yours love him if he is. Can't imagine too many Leeds fans were happy when he went there with his Sheffield United history.

He'd more than likely be great for the club. But I can't stand him (sorry, I AM in that brigade)!

same as this for me - I cant stand the guy but hey if he did a good job for us I wouldnt really care.

I neverliked him before but his reaction to the Kirkland incident with the fan who ran on was really poor last season - real opportunity to show some class, and yes he did say it was unacceptable from the Leeds fan but he also just had to throw in about how easily Kirkland went over, trying to pass it off as a joke comment.

He left sheffield united at the end of the 206/07 season after they were relegated from the PL.

He hasn't managed lower than the championship since he left Bury for Sheffield United in 1999.

I think managing Leeds United is just about the most poisened challis in football. Warnock is 62/63 and a very loose canon can't see dear ols Tim going for someone like him

We couldn't afford to recruit his mates, i.e. Brown, Derry, Paddy Kenny - their wages combined are probably on a par with 75% of the wage bill.

Me too! Can't stand him. He's one of those guys who takes massive relish in winding up people who don't agree with him by giving interviews pretending that his polarised view on any given topic is the only sensible one. Anyone who disagrees is an idiot.

Reminds me me of somebody, actually...

Yeah, like that..bloke is the ultimate WUM. He's even WUMMING his own fans at the moment with his "if we don't up I'm offski" crap.

Sorry CJ I agree with most of what you write on this board but PLEASE not Warnock, that guy winds me up just looking at him and his constant blaming refs or linesmen (sorry ref assistants) makes me want to punch him, and I'm a Christian.

Shame it didn't all go over Timmy

I agree. He's got his finest cashmere cardigan on. He'd make me pay for his dry cleaning even though I'm his boss. He's like that.
