When the players had their ‘one to ones’ with Robins after the season finished and before they went on holiday, Addai turned up 20 minutes late for his meeting and Robins went mad.
He told he was a disgrace and that he had 2 months to sort himself out (Not sure when that started) or he was out of the club!!

Could it be that he hasn’t sorted himself out?

He is 3rd choice and lets face it couldn't dislodge Burge last season so clearly isn't going to make it a this level. may as well let him go

Not nesecery remember Connor Thomas had a trial at Liverpool still as a city player, clubs also trial loan players from time to time.

Not quite. Conor Thomas went on loan to Liverpool’s youth set up with a view to a permanent transfer. This move so upset Gary Hoffman he resigned from the CCFC board and fell out with SiSU. Liverpool decided after 3 months they didn’t want CT after all.

Always had good judgement our Gary
Partially true. The full story was that Hoffman felt that SISU had gone back on their commitment to invest in the squad and were now selling players without consulting the manager ....Thomas was the final straw

So he was a poor judge of character and naive enough to help bring a hedge fund in to our club. Again, great judgement Gary

If he goes to Telford on loan this week, I assume he will be allowed to play against us on Saturday?

What I don't understand is that if we're sending him on trial with a view to a permanent transfer and the thing with MR is true, why did we bother activating his year extension? Why not just release him?

I've also assumed that Bilson from last years U18 was given a contract as he's been moved into the U23's on the website and given a squad number (as have most of the other lads who weren't on the official squad number release).

My work mate plays for Telford. He says they are seeking a loan move for Addai and he's effectively been on trial with them for a week. Training and the match at the weekend.
And he also says he is an unbelievably talented keeper. Compared him to Kell Roos (who he's also played with and now at Derby) and went as far as saying he is better at this stage of his career than Roos was. Complimentary on his ability to claim crosses and to ping accurate passes anywhere. He doubts we'll let him go permanently from what he's seen of him so far.

Wonder if it's an attitude thing holding him back with us so far?

For me Addai's biggest problem is his concentration. It might be that he's just got that languid/relaxed persona that can rile fans up a bit as it comes across as a lack of effort, but from what I've seen in the U23's I can't see him being our 1st team keeper. He's very young for a keeper but he needs to do more to progress here IMO.

I also hope he starts filling out soon rather than going upwards. Website has him as 6'8'' now I think!

He's a strange one. Needs loan time at higher levels than last season. Telford conf North? That's a better start. Hope he does well

100% on the money Nick
He's a popular lad and seen in the game as very talented with great potential
But he's also acquired a reputation as being extremely immature
He needs to decide if he's a professional footballer and work like a dog to improve
Or to carry on behaving like any other 21 year old with a normal job where you can get away with not showing 100% commitment at all times

Surely MR has already told him that.

If it really is an attitude thing then it's a massive shame, granted he's not had a look in, but he should still be grafting for that chance. I know we've all had our qualms with Burge, but look how his attitude got him where he is. At one point, he was in Addai's position, in fact I believe he was transfer listed at a stage, yet he knuckled down, kept his head right, and got a lucky break. Firstly he should see that, and the likes of Willis's hard work through the academy, as inspiration. But secondly, if nothing else, surely he should be showing off of sorts, being a professional and working hard to play at the highest level he can.

An immature attitude to it all stinks of unprofessionalism, and will only wind up with him playing low level football regardless of capabilities.. Just look at Kevin Thornton, who was highly tipped for the future at one point, or even Clarke-Harris. And that's just at Cov, could even bring people like Jose Baxter as an example.

Look at the next Messi, Jak Hickman. Now he's just messy.

Burge was never transfer listed.

If he's got a bad attitude surprised he's still here, would have thought Robins would have him straight out the door.
