Seemed to do well with Ryan Fraser? Eddie Howe said that he would get minimal game time in their maiden Premier League season, went on loan to Ipswich and now has started their opening two games. Progressed Teddy Bishop to a first team starter before he was injured. Made Tyrone Mings into one of the hottest prospects in the Championship after signing him from non-league Chippenham Town for £10,000. Aaron Cresswell is now on the fringes of potentially being called up to the England squad after a number of assured appearances for West Ham.

He seems to get the best out of players in my opinion. This even includes the experienced Daryl Murphy who has just been sold to Newcastle. If you look at his record he was relatively average in front of goal until the 2014/15 season at the age of 31.

All entitled to our opinions but where's the evidence for yours because it seems to me that McCarthy is excellent in developing players?

Robbie Keane was absolutely glowing about McCarthy on his international retirement statement

Disaster... for the Evening Telegraph!

That accounts for 95% of their CCFC articles.

They may now have to do something that they are not accustomed to... journalism!

Barnsley have Ryan Kent on loan as well, Kent scored a cracking goal the other day for them.

I assume you know how long it takes to get from Yorkshire to Northumberland he will not be popping home from there. Barnsley is a bad place to live vs lem spa. If he is leaving Newcastle I see Leeds etc. being his choice but if at 19 he wants to bang the goals in to enhance his rep further why not at ccfc.?

Adam Jackson signed for Barnsley as well, slightly stranger one that. If anyone remember he is the player we took on loan for one month from Middlesbrough to have a look at but he never played.

But went on loan to Hartlepool and made 25 appearances. A year older with more experience...3 year contract, so they may see him as a longer term signing, but good enough to strengthen their squad.

In fairness to them they play decent football. Johnson is a good manager I reckon.

Glad he's not wasting his time in League One again, although I was hoping he'd break through into the Newcastle side.

Yeah he is, even though he's now at Bristol City, not Barnsley.

Heckingbotom is Barnsley's manager, and has been for months.

Good luck to Adam Armstrong enjoyed him while he was here but now I hope his name will be confined to history instead of dominating this website, won't be ccfc connected now will it.

I agree with you though, I also think Johnson is a good manager.

Which is why I think Bristol City will do well this year.
