Bradford have said they're interested so have Rotherham, as long as he doesn't come to this division I'm ok with that.

Yep same here, but if he did get loaned back to league 1 think it would be a team like
Bradford or Sheffield Utd, closer to home and likely to create more chances and they
Play in front of half decent crowds.
All the things Newcastle will want him to be getting used to.

trouble is these teams need to play in a certain way to make Arma effective and Bradford certainly dont play that way

Robbie what are you on about! Sisu are the one in control of everything they decide how much budget Tony gets to spend. If Newcastle demanding full wages for his loan will sisu pay his wages? If he goes to Bradford that shows how much ambition they have where they will pay his wages and if Adam decides to go there then surely that can't be for his development over us.

Why you mentioning Turnball red card and sisu ambtion think you taking the p*ss do one mate no relevance regarding this thread.

I don't agree, him learning how to play and be effective in different formations
Using different tactics will ultimately make him a better player. Because of this
Bradford may actually become a more interesting proposition for Newcastle.

Because Mowbray has a budget that would be agreed before the season started (with or without a sliding scale but that's for him to agree). How he then allocates that budget is up to him and venus. So what does that have to do with SISU? Or should we not have a budget at all....SISU should just pay for every players wages who we think should do a job? What planet do you live on? The likelihood is that Armstrong will not come here and it will not have anything to do with wages whatsoever. It will be a development decision or a personal decision of his. Still, don't let that stop an anti-sisu frenzy.

I'm quite jealous actually...it must be pretty blissful having no unexplained problems or difficulties in the world - the default just being it's SISU's fault.

I said last season that fluking a 20 goal a season signing from an 18 year old boy was the only real difference between missing relegation in 2015 and getting near the play-offs in 2016....and now he's gone, it seems I was right.

If he went to Bradford it has nothing to do with SISU ambition.

I am not sure why there is an obsession to get him back, he would struggle in the system we play. Agyei suits it a lot better. Where does Armstrong fit in?

Yes, the 20 goals last season were excellent, but, 15 or 16 of them came before Christmas.

Yes I agree with that sentiment but how many Strikers have left for Big Bucks and then fall by the wayside because their scoring rate falls through the floor, Arma's scoring dropped off dramatically in the latter part of the season because we could not feed him the ball as he liked and thus made him come back and fetch the ball himself as he was then learning how to play and be effective in different formations. Even if we were fortunate enough to get him back TM would have to do something to get him back up and scoring effectively

How do you know Agyei isn't a 20 goal a season striker? 1 in 1 so far isnt it?

Or do you have a crystal ball?

He's 19. the lad can benefit from another confidence boosting season at CCFC. Why would they loan him in the championship? They are in the championship! Benitez clarly thinks he is not ready yet and so league 1 success will be a good thing where he will play every week. TM is the ideal manager to help his development as already proven. The lad likes Coventry and if he is not going to play for Newcastle this season then CCFC seems the obvious return choice. Alongside Aghei seems like a perfect partnership to watch for. I think TM's patience in the market may well prove very prudent.

Armstrong will never come back here. But we don't need another striker anyway. We have Agyei, Sordell and Tudgay with McBean and G. Thomas for backup.

If he comes here will you say it shows SISU's desire and ambition? If not then that comment is hypocritical.

I don't think McBean is in the house is he? Tudgay can go and Thomas can go on loan in league II. If we have a chance of Arma and I believe we would TM can make a good case for us. As for Sheff Utd someone said...they have Leon Clarke and Sharp so Arma would not necessarily be guaranteed a start which Benitez would be demanding I'm sure.

AA could play in the 2 behind main striker. He did it in 3 nil win vs shrews last year

To be honest I would put Tudgay's and Thomas's wages together if I thought they would secure AA

You could be right in that it is not wages related.

Last season we did not pay one penny to Adam Armstrong for his services.

Newcastle paid all costs.

The big fear is that Bradford, Sheffield United or Rotherham are willing to pay his wages.

Arma would be far more effective than the forwards you quote after Agyei and for this reason if we can we should get him back. Tudgay toils and Thomas is not going to be prolific against strong journeymen defences.

I was in Greggs earlier today. Whilst perusing the very reasonably priced baked produce, I overheard a gentleman on his telephone saying Armstrong was skyping Mowbray later on to discuss a return. This man was tucking into a very serious looking ham and cheese baguette so I trust he wasn't making it up.

With AA available TM would be nuts not to be on the phone to him, i don't care about formations, systems or tatics. Its about players and he is a very good player at l1 level. Any club in our league that has a 20 goal a season player no matter how he gets them is a massive asset. He is better than, every back up forward we have so we have to go for him,

Problem us every club will be on the phone, he has a decision to make as he will have plenty of options, i said yesterday, Sheff w, Leeds, Huddersfield or Barnsley will be in the hunt but Rotherham mentioned today is also a good shout. We will be interested but my doubt is if it was us im sure it would of been done already.

If we actually buy him as a permanent signing then yes that would show some ambition from SISU. If like last season, we arrange for Newcastle to pay all his wages in a loan deal, that would show that TM has some great connections at NUFC. It wouldn't show anything about SISU's supposed ambitions.

If we cannot get the ball to the front players effectively then that's what will make his decision! The later part of last season showed him what he could be in for and I think at this stage of his developement he needs to be in a team of consistancy

There is no evidence they paid all his wages.

Spending millions on one player would be a sign of insanity not ambition.
